Man this one stings. We have let 2 games get away from us , that we had every opportunity to win . Fix the piss poor tackling and the clock management issues and we can play with anyone in the country . We are capable of winning the next 5 ! Mulligans are gone . Maybe I'm nieve, I definitely view the world through ORANGE colored classes. Win the next 5 and go to the playoffs . I believe in this team ! GO VOLS !!

With as bad as it was tonight and I have been very critical of the lack of effort on defense and some questionable play calling and terrible time management again, I still believe this can be a really good team and I still believe that Josh Heupel is a really good coach, they just have to go out and prove it

Even if you win out Tennessee is not making the playoffs cant get blown out on the road. But I also think 7-5 is more realistic now hopefully im wrong.
I would be shocked if you didn’t get in at 10-2 with the only losses being 2 other playoff teams. I don’t think we do that, but it’s still feasible.

That’s me in a nutshell all the time. I never give up always have hope. But tonight feels too familiar. Derek Dooley and Butch Jones level buffoonery. I whole heartedly believed we had turned the corner as a program and were regaining our place as an elite program. But here we are again. I can handle losing but having the leader of our program show unbelievable stupidity over and over again ruins football for me. Total amateur. The worst decision making. I still believe we could go 10-2 and make the playoffs but even if so I can’t enjoy it because at the end of the day he’s just stupid and will fail. It was basic game management failures. Belichiks girlfriend could have made better decisions. It was really that bad.

Playoffs are a high possibility just like last year but, there are better players on the teams we are playing this year. We should be favored to win the rest of the games and should win.

Being a realist, we probably get bounced in first round again.

I think you lost realist when you said playoffs were a high possibility for this team.

This loss was maddening. The pick-six, the 99-yard drive, more clock management failures. Another freaking road conference loss.

I am by no stretch of the imagination a Kirby Smart or Georgia fan , but I remember early in his head coaching career, he made clock management and play calling decisions that cost Georgia some huge games . He learned from those mistakes and has won a couple of championships since then . Hopefully Josh will learn from his coaching mistakes and have similar results as Kirby .

Kirby had those in Y1. By Y2, Kirby had cleaned that up...

We are in Y5 here and Y8 including UCF

Now do blue chip ratio and sanctions.

Im not comparing results. Im just saying Kirby learned from his clock mgmt mistakes by his 2nd year. Kirby had a shitton of them his first year. Heup still struggles with it in Y8....

Hell, Heup blew games via clock mgmt in the AAC when he had by far the best roster..

Fair enough. I put most of the GA loss on Heupel, btw. 50/50 going conservative and clock management.

I think the issue is Heupel needs to accept he needs to reevaluate and change his clock management strategy more than it being an issue of is he capable.

My uninformed guess is that there's about a 5second variable in the amount of time between snaps while running tempo that he can't anticipate or quantify the contingencies for. Yards gained between plays=A while WR route distance=B.
Trying to be too smart for his own good. It only takes a few plays for the game clock to get away from him.

I actually confused you with another big orange, btw. Sorry about that. I need to get some sleep.

You know Georgia lost by 18 last year on November the 9th and still made the playoffs. Granted that may have been because they won the SEC championship game. Texas lost by 15 to Georgia and by the championship game was back up at #2. Alabama lost at Oklahoma by 21 giving them 3 losses and was 1 spot out from making the cut.

Lots of games to play - if we win out we will be in the discussion. But we need to take each game one at a time. There isn't a dominant team in the league this year.
