Selma native and Birmingham insurance salesman, James Carter was officiating our Arkansas game last week. He didn't see them hogs do nothing wrong in our game. It must be the lack of crowd noise that makes them play so undisciplined. 20251011_162453.jpg

How many baseball coaches on Earth do you think would choose to coach at the university of Tennessee over the San Francisco Giants?

This is like not understanding why a guy would leave to be the first pick in the draft over staying for his senior year.
It’s a totally diffferent game and if you can’t see that or know that you don’t know much about either game! There’s a reason it’s never happened before. The college game of baseball translates less to its pro game than any other sport out there! In football I understand, Basketball I understand, heck NHL I understand, but MLB has nothing to do with the college game at all. I’ll put some money on him failing in MLB if you would like, because nothing he’s good at translates to what he will be asked to do in the majors. His in game decisions have always been questioned, what isn’t questioned is his recruitment of talent and out talenting teams and getting his players to play like they had nothing to lose. He isn’t doing that in the pro’s and I for sure would hope he is smart enough to know that. But maybe his ego is so big he thinks he can get it done. In the end not every college coach even considers going to the pro’s. Way too many of those failed experiments through the years and this will end up that same way. So NO it makes no sense at all to me that he would consider making that jump when he has everything he could imagine here. I mean out of all the sports at TN baseball is one I don’t spend all that much time or energy on, so if he leaves and they go back to sucking I wouldn’t lose a minute of sleep with it, as long as the football and basketball programs continue doing what they are is what I mostly care about. So it’s not sour grapes of me to think like this, it’s literally knowing both games and that they have absolutely no crossover with each other. I guess the only thing I can think of is he hates the new roster rules, but if that’s the case in 3-4 years he’s coming right back to it because he won’t get another MLB job if he fails.
