The battle for academic freedom and institutional sovereignty in higher education continues to play out as another university has rejected a White House offer for expanded access to federal funding in return for agreeing to a series of demands.

Brown University on Wednesday declined an offer by the Trump administration to join a compact that would potentially give preferential funding in exchange for a list of changes to school policy, including no longer considering sex and ethnicity in admissions and capping international enrollment. The letter was sent to nine universities at the beginning of the month.

Anyone can give an opinion. The case you cited doesn't say or imply anything what you spoke about, not really. What you are really implying is everyone has some type of "Rights" and everyone has to be treated equally, but that is oversimplification of how legal construct works.

The loons think government gives Rights, when in actuality they give rights i.e. statutory rights.

Just my two cents (political stance) is to me any foreigner here really shouldn't be involved in politics in any significant way. If you have a visa to work, work, if you have visa to go on vacation, go on vacation. Foreigners should not be here to interfere in our politics as a generalization.

I dont care about the middle east at all, let alone Gaza or Israel. Spent enough time over there in 2 wars to not care about any of em. I care about American troops though.

So again. Why do American troops need to risk their lives in Gaza?

what would they sue for? they offered us money with clauses attached, we said no, and nothing happened.

politicians and presidents have always had terms when giving schools money. The only difference with Trump is that he does it in the open.

He didn't say what "we" meant. Right now it is a threat because that seems to be the only way to get their attention. If troops go in to kill Hamas, I hope and pray it isn't American troops.

based on my completely arbitrary "feels" I would argue our treatment of the germans wasn't genocidal, but the japanese could be argued as genocidal.

especially as at some point we were directly fighting in Germany, we never made it to Japanese soil.

It's not just LG but there's absolutely a group where unless what they want to hear comes out there is literally zero chance their stance won't be "Yeah, there's zero chance we'll ever get the REAL story.".

FWIW we're kinda there with damn near everything now. I mean, if the earth being round is a cover up of the truth then there's going to be people that can never be convinced of anything.
