The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

For those of you blaming these decisions on Amy, I listen to those plugged in. And every last one says she let's those she hired make decisions. She ultimately has to sign off but she isn't inserting herself into the daily ops and decisions unless they are hers to make.
exactly she is shopping at Norstroms on gameday.......prolly asks her hubby if they won when she gets home. Those boys she hired takes care of that.

It would be similar to Colts with Saturday. Naming George as the interim woudn't be a dumb idea because it doesn't matter in grand scheme of things. We are not getting a staff for the remainder of the season that will be hear going forward. I personally would like to see Vince Young brought in as the interim. Might as well get crazy with it.
Good lord.

I can see people who think it was on its face. The issues are the other variables such as the coaching names out there to interview or the fact we had a guy so in over his head at the GM spot.

Vrabel was the lone bright spot of competence and discipline. And honestly, I think he was happy he got fired so he didn't have to deal with this franchise anymore.
The last season here he looked like the most miserable person on the planet....He had that, please fire me look every game.

I forget the exact wording, but I recall an interview a few years ago where Tom Brady said that starting a rookie QB year one was a terrible idea, and that it should only be done if there’s literally no other option. He attributed his year behind Bledsoe as critical to his development into the QB he’d become, and said that, if he started year one, he’d have never made it. Since he’s the GOAT, I’m inclined to trust his input on QB development.

So it makes me wonder if we should’ve just picked up somebody like Brissett and sacrificed them instead. Idk if Cam is the guy or not, but this staff is unquestionably ruining him, and since we were going to be awful anyway…… should we really have thrown him into the fire week one?
Seems like an admission that Peyton is the man. He started from game 1 his rookie season, took his lumps (setting the rookie INT record), learned from his mistakes, and was a first ballot Hall of Famer.

I know right. The interview he did with Bussin' was interesting because atleast from his angle, it seemed (could be BS) that he was fully expecting to be back when he had his end of season meeting with the front office.

I know it is sexy to fire a coach every 18 months, but some of the best small market franchises are those that stick with their coaches who show success, but have down years.

Like the premise of firing Vrabel should have been 1 simple question:

-Do we trust a coach with track record like Vrabel to continue coaching here and have a successful rebuild era?

I personally can't think of a reason why someone could have the position that they don't think Vrabel would have been successful in rebuilding and transitioning the team.

Especially considering the coaches out there we were interviewing.

I just love that this era has concluded with people having egg on their face who legitimately thought Callahan was a qualified coach or playcaller based soley on his time as OC in title only. The people who were positive on his hire look like morons.

I actually wouldn't be shocked if the Titans found a way to win against the Patriots. They did lose to the Raiders and were in a 1 score game against the Saints. Outside of the Panthers game, they've played down to their competition.

The Vrabel defenders have a multitude of excuses for why we were bad those years. Apparently, it was not his fault that we fell off a cliff after 2021.
Aging starters and downstream effects of 3 straight horrible draft classes broke the dam.... Vrabel was hardly the poor coach that people made him out to be over those 2 years. That is evidenced by his immediate success in New England.

It is almost like is the good to great coach he is when he has a competent front office.

Lol. Vrabel isn't overlooking this game. I hope he goes for the jugular in this game.

Just give McCarthy the full-time job if he's interested. He's old but is lightyears better than whatever up and comer we could realistically get.

The team is absolute ass and needs someone to just stabilize it at this point. And I say that as someone who typically hates retread hires.
Andy Reid was a retread hire…
Belicheck was a retread hire…
…not sure i understand that phrase.
