Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Bama is getting all this love from everyone saying they are clearly the best in the SEC.

How does that change next week when we whoop that ass!
Who is saying that? They lost to freakin FSU lol. And barely scraped by Mizzou and Vandy. They could also be 3-3...

And Ole Miss and TAMU are ranked above them and undefeated. OU was before yesterday.

There's no clear favorite in the SEC. Whatsoever.

Well Dinich is the Joe Lunardi of football. When the Championship games have been played and she reveals her prediction it will be spot on just like last season...not saying Tennessee doesn't get in but I will say 6 SEC teams with a 10-2 record all doesn't make the field of 12..
I personally don’t believe there will be 6 teams at 10-2.

I watched the Bball scrimmage.

Our team looks huge. Very tall. Ament missed his first FT and then buried the rest. Also ran the court on a fast break ahead of everyone and put it in. Then pulled up on a 3 ball and… money. He’s a good ball handler. If there’s one critique it’s just speed of play, just a half step slow on defending and got some passes batted away. He’ll adjust. Felix looks more physical, that’s good to see.

Surprised gray team won, they were down by nearly 20 in the first half.

Ole Miss scraped by Washington St. yesterday too.

When Max drilled that 50 yarder yesterday with what seemed like little effort!
Technically, it was a game winner. That’s why it’s always a bit unfair to say a kicker “lost” a game on one kick when not giving them credit for kicks that were the difference in other games. Max misses the 50 yarder yesterday and we might be talking about fahring Heupel. It was a super clutch kick in hindsight.

That was such a weird game. It seemed like we had no idea what they were going to do, which makes sense with the addition/subtraction they had on the coaching staff. There is something about the first week with an interim coach that gets everyone on the team juiced and I am glad we survived it.
Agree.

I was pissed when we got up 34-17 in 4th and let them back in it. At home. We just made plays when it mattered.

And any inside information on Brazzell? MIA. Was he double covered the entire time? Sick? Hungover?

1000%

Timing bias is a funny thing.

Similar to how fans put an overabundance of emphasis on Q4 drives, and not enough on Q1-Q3 drives. Both have equal impacts, but our perceptions distort this.

Yes, I believe the Georgia kick was his first kick of that magnitude. He looked like he saw a ghost when he was lining up for the kick. Hopefully, he learned from the experience.

He would be a huge help. But it doesn’t change us playing the sticks and letting them get easy catches at the first down marker. Maybe try a blitz and get the ball out quick so they can’t throw it to the line. I think it’s more in the soft zone and not playing the zone correctly.
I agree. Not playing zone at all at times. The cushions have been ridiculously bad at times.

Well I do KNOW that Ben Bolton and Jordan Burns has given us nothing yet that are getting snaps. I also know that Telander cant run sideline to sideline and is a liability in obvious passing situations.

We have nothing to lose to play the young more athletic LBers.
Perlotte is a fast fella!

I’d expect to see a lot of zone vs Bama. Don’t believe they want to leave Ty on an island in man vs those WRs.

And Boo has been getting beat m2m by the slot.

If we had McCoy + Gibson healthy and also on the field I think the plan would look a lot different.

Someone said he raised his head slightly early to watch it. Not sure if that’s true but I kinda wonder if it was actually less nerves and more wanting to see his hero moment go through the uprights. Probably a combination of both.

Defense was Jekyll and Hyde yesterday. First half, they looked so unmotivated for most of it. Third quarter, they were fire. Seemed to revert back when Heupel pulled back the reins on offense. Not sure why Heupel likes to throttle back the offense when we get the lead. Foot needs to stay on the gas.

Game management. If the offense executes and stays on the field then we chew up all the clock up 2 scores.

It’s not my favorite strategy but that’s what coaches do.

It's sickening

People want to gas them up so hard and pretend they're the old Bama. Well, they f'n aren't. Them being crowned already is the most premature bs ever.

Screw them, screw our sloppy play against ARK and Ms St, there's more parity than ever, our struggles are overvalued and their close triumphs are overvalued.

We have Heup

We have a QB with nuts of steel

F*** their refs and F*** their braindead fans.

We got this.
