Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I mean think about this way. Our offense scored 41 on the road and we basically had 2 TD’s taken off the board. We are probably going to be able to keep ourselves in any game on the road bc of the offense. Almost impossible for this team to get blown out.
We were soooo much better than they are. Our horrific play almost cost us the game. Drops, penalties, punt return nonsense, clock management.... Just played so far beneath our potential like almost every other road game.

70s football rules, Buccaneers and it’s not even close.
Today‘s football rules Titans and it’s not even close.
I think Bucs kick titans a$$ no matter the era.
John McKay alone wins it….

Plus….. @knoxvol52 was right…..no way Spurrier loses..

Welcome to the SEC on the road. I did see plenty of positives.

I was speaking more to the hits that were allowed back then. If you showed today’s NFL WR what would be allowed in regards to DBs play/hits they would boycott the game😂

5 hours or less from Dallas, STL, Kansas City, OKC, and Memphis. Plenty of talent in their radius.

A really good coach could do well, but I think NIL money is holding them back. Probably a requirement of the new coach is recruiting NIL money lol
They virtually have no talent in state. While deep, you are recruiting in Dallas against Texas, A&M, OU, TCU, and now Tech and SMU. The instate schools still have a huge draw. OU gets who they want in state. NIL or not, it’s not easy with their geography. It’s gotten tougher, too. JMO.

I've seen enough years of playing terrible on the road that it's a pretty rational fear....we looked horrific and it wasn't even all that hostile.

I still think there's something Heupel needs to change in the road game routine.
It’s called playing on the road in the SEC. It’s difficult unless you have a massive talent advantage like UGA or Bama.
