Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Man I love this big SEC game week feeling!

Like a slow march to battle.

Let us not forget that it is Heupel that has brought us back to this point. This alone, is a bigger game than any from 2008-2020. Unless you want to argue some games from 2016. Every year starting in 2022, we have found ourselves in these playoff and SEC championship deciding tilts. It's so nice to be relevant year after year again!

All you can ask for is to continue to have these opportunities. Best UGA and that schedule is lookin pretty delicious the rest of the way 👀

Caleb Williams is still not looking all that great in year 2. Maybe too early to say.
He was 21/35 for 210 yds and a touchdown. He rushed 6 times for 58 yds and a touchdown. Im not saying he's great but he did on the better side of average and showed growth from last year. Jayden Daniels was 19/30 for 233 yards and a TD. He rushed 11 times for 68 yds and no TD. That was against the Giants. The Vikes have a better defense. So is Jayden Daniels trash? Jalen Hurts was 19/23 for 152 yds and rushed 11 times for 68 yds and 2 YD against a Parsons-less Dallas D. Is he trash?

They've held it all back on pass rush through 2. Offense agree.

Their own reporter has confirmed both of these points. Bull from blue chip breakdown also confirmed they've shown none of the normal pass rush they do against us. They don't get a ton of pressure from the 4 down. They usually bring pressure.

I expect to see UGA try and get JA heated up in the 1st half to see how he handles it. As Streeter on the sports source said. He's been in his home bathroom. That's easy. Now he's moving to the airplane bathroom and that isn't as easy.
this front has no jalen carter, travon walker, jordan davis, devonte wyatt

and there's no nakobe dean/jalon walker/mykel williams/nolan smith rushing you.

got to stop being so scared of these guys. Most of their true premier guys are underclassmen.

If they can't get home with four, they are dead. JA is the kind of qb that will kill them if they blitz and he sees it. It is really difficult to disguise and dial up exotic bitzes with the spread out formations Heup use.
Against them on offense I expect we will play heavy boxes and blitz a good deal.

Of course Georgia has held back in their first two games. Why would they go full tilt on both sides of the ball against inferior teams they could beat in their sleep....But I don't believe CJH has shown all his cards either will be a interesting Cat and Mouse game come Saturday.

Nobody said he was trash.

Watch the game. Stats don't tell the whole story. Especially because a big chunk of those stats was when the Vikings went prevent because the game was over barring an onside kick. You could argue his poor performance when the game did matter is partially why the Vikings were able to come back.

He was missing wide open guys, making bad decisions, etc... Stuffing the stat box once the game is over is why his stats look better than his performance was.

I believe my mid season Williams will be playing top notch ball, if not then it's on Caleb...

Man even watching a MSU game on tv is terrible with the stupid cowbells.
I agree, I had to change it to a different game for this reason and only watched the last few plays of the game. I am dreading our game against them because sound is irritating. Loud crowds are exciting and extremely fun to watch and adds life to games I don’t care about, but the cowbells are nails on a chalkboard.

Dont think we're scared as much as just looking at the data. We've lost by an average of 20 points. They have a 6'7" 248 TE, and 6'6", and 6'5"'receiver and stable of backs. QB really isnt that big a deal when you have monsters to throw too.

We will see. So far Banks has been taken to school. Josh hasnt been able to dial up same plays against this defense; and Kirby D has taken us to task with designed pressure.

I really think the way to beat Georgia is to do what we've been doing. Use talented O line to rip off 5-6 yards, use screen game, and even draw plays. Do what UGA wants to do. Then, when least expect, PA to crossing or slant over middle to Brazzell for chunk play.

Georgia will try to do what they do best in passing game, find those talented TE's in the middle of the field...

I can’t remember who was breaking it down but basically said that Kirby has had enough talent to always beat us with minimal players in the box. If our guys can’t win their one on ones then we will continue to lose.

Which is saying something bc this is our more talented line, and TE room in a long long time.

At some point the talent issue has to become moot.
