You honestly believe that Russia thought this conflict would last this long? If Russia's forces are so great, then what the hell is stopping them from completing their objective?

One million dead Ukrainians is conservative. In trench type warfare where Russia largely controls the air, has a huge arms production advantage and better training. Whatever you think Russian losses are, multiply that by 7 conservatively.

Russia thought they would force Ukraine to the table very early, which they did. An agreement was about to be signed when western interests assured their proxy they would stand behind them. At that point Russia changed course and turned this into a war of attrition which they have implemented quite well. It wasnt perfect, they made plenty of mistakes as is the nature of war.

why would Russia inititate a war of attrition when they field best armed forces in world with the best weapons?

When the conflict began, I felt that Russia would have had this wrapped up in a matter of months and that simply hasn't been the case. This has played out like the plot from the first Rocky movie.

"If Iran gets a nuke they will use it against the US", they fearmonger.

Iran has had hypersonic missiles for 2 years and despite the fact they could have easily attacked our handful of bases scattered around the middle east (along with our military assets in the region), they havent. Why not? Even to this day as we directly assist Israel in intel, logistics and air defense...they havent attacked us.

Because what you thought Russia's intention was and what Russia'a actual intentions were, were 2 different things.

They absolutely have attacked us, repeatedly, both hard and soft targets. They use their proxies to fade heat.

That is completely false. Now there were units that had not been western trained and they may fit your description. Today, that is largely the makeup of what Ukraine is forcibly pulling off the street. It is an absolute high ratio slaughter now, but this is what you supported so enjoy it.
