It’s about the standard Tennessee has for winning and if you can’t win see ya wouldn’t wanna be? So why should the softball coach have a less of a standard to win, then our basketball coach, especially when she’s making more than the basketball coach? Basketball coach wasn’t performing and she got fired. No reason why administration shouldn’t hold our softball coach into the same situation. That’s what it has to do with our softball coach.

At this point, I just want to start playing great Softball. If we fall out of top 8 or 16 (doubt we’ll fall this far) I don’t care. It might play in our favor to have to really swallow our pride and earn everything we have to to move on in the NCAA’s. As far who should and shouldn’t be fired, this isn’t a concern right now. My main concern is that we apparently have a “locker room” issue. There is something awry with our team and it may be mostly mental. It could be coaching and a slew of other issues. No quality softball team like ours should repeat the same mistakes on this scale. It can be fixed. I refuse as a “Vols for life” fan to believe this is an irreparable problem. I’ll let the powers that be make the coaching decisions. I just want my Vols SB back. We all have our “two cents” to contribute. Let’s just keep it civil. We all want the same thing.

It is easy to sit in a rocking chair and take pot shots and Thursday evening quarterback. Every day in baseball and softball the mistakes made by this team are being made by other teams......sometimes those mistakes are overcome and sometimes they are not. That is softball and baseball wrapped up in a ball of competitiveness. Unfortunately ,some mistakes lead to losses ...fact is most of losses are due to mistakes they make.Managers and coaches do their best to minimize those .....and I am damn certain that out softball coaches do .

Karen is pulling in a base salary of $500,000 per year to run through 2028. Got a $160,000/year raise after last season.

I'd like to see some improvements for that kind of money. I'd like to see her stop reverting to old patterns when she gets to this point in the season since those tendencies have failed 100% of the time to result in a natty. Why can other coaches do it, but not Karen? Could she try some new things, maybe? Perhaps teach the players how to hit a softball? She should start there.

I see a new hitting coach. Maybe a different way of recruiting. Karen and the hitting coach were having a long discussion in the dugout.
Don't think it will happen but Pickens could transfer to a team that can actually give her run support!

I certainly hope she doesn't, and she does seem to love being a Lady Vol. But I'll admit, a part of me really couldn't blame her if she did want to go somewhere she could get offensive support -- IF Tennessee were to exit early because "Groundhog Day."

As many have said, pitching ain't our problem. But the ol' Monica Abbott treatment our amazing pitchers are stuck with, IS.

Yes, I am still bitter. No, I will never get over Tennessee not winning a natty despite having the greatest pitcher of all time for four years. Never.

Pickens is a big Tv draw and Karen holds weigh with the committee so a top eight is not out of the question plus we finished top four in by far the toughest conference in the nation. The bigger question is what we do with whatever we draw. Can’t go with the two leach lineup plus we have a week to work on hitting and fielding. Get someone left handed to come in and throw.

Shades of Arizona's Taryne Mowatt in the 2007 championship, Monica Abbott's last hurrah as a Lady Vol. That we couldn't give the freaking brilliant Abbott enough hits/runs, resulting in the "blistered-fingered" Mowatt getting the championship is up there with my all-time WORST sports memories.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see KP leave. I actually think it’s more likely than not that it happens, frankly.

She has 5 losses this year in which she didn’t allow any earned runs. That should tell you how poor the run support and defense behind her have been this year. That’s just embarrassing. She deserves better than what UT is giving her.
