Recruiting Football Talk VIII

If they're spending $2 billion to make a video game, heads need to roll in that company.
GTA V has sold 210 million copies (second best-selling game of all time) and has generated nearly $9 billion for Rockstar Games.

$2 billion on what will almost certainly be an even bigger, more successful game is a pretty sure bet for them.

Kurt Angle. Olympic Gold Medalist ..
Kurt Angle is not even close lol. He only has 1 Olympic Gold, 1 World Championship gold, and 2 NCAA golds. Dan Gable has 2 NCAAs, a Pan-Am, a World Champ, and an Olympic Gold. Not to mention Cael Sanderson's career.

Probably the most decorated American is Jordan Burroughs: 2 NCAA golds, 4 US Open golds, 6 Grand Prix golds, 9 Pan-Am golds, 6 World Championships golds, 1 Olympic gold.

And I'd still say none of them are the goat. Alexander Kerelin (Russia) and Mijian Lopez (Cuba) are the goats.

Kerelin went 887-2 with both losses by 1pt. 3 Olympic golds and 1 silver. Lopez won 5 Olympic golds, including 2024 at the age of 42.

Wrasslin' aint real!

This is pretty dumb IMO. You always tell recruits and transfers they are coming to compete to start. Not you see depth and sit the bench.
That would seem to be missing the point. It isn't what they are telling them, it's what they are willing to pay. I'm sure the staff would be happy for better players to earn a starting spot, but I doubt starters are coming for depth money, regardless of what you tell them.

You offer what you offer. If they earn a starting spot, they potentially earn a raise. What you sell is opportunity.

Guaranteed there would be some severe cases of rip in half if a gorilla got in a fight with 100 men.
Very severe, but the men would eventually win. The first wave of guys, though...hope their affairs were in order, and their families knew it would be a closed coffin.

The gorilla more than likely runs away if he sees 100 men, though.

All these morons arguing about it don't understand how strong a gorilla really is. . .
On the pro-gorilla side, I don't think y'all understand what getting jumped is like lol.

100 of animal A fighting 1 of animal B, where animal B is 5-10 times stronger than animal A... Animal A wins that every single time. Pick any animals that fit the bill.

Get Larry on the horn…

*What's the point in me changing my avi to Larry Bird, posting for 2 straight days about him being the greatest, and reminding Laker fans they got bounced in the 1st round (1-4), if the CELTICS are going to lose the 1st 2 games of the 2nd round.... at home!?!?!? I know BOSTON still has more championships than LA and they have a whole lot more impressive franchise history, but I really wanted to rub it in this week. 🫤
