Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I'm not much of a video games guy these days, but that GTA VI looks like it's gonna be pretty, pretty good. Can't believe they're spending nearly $2,000,000,000.00 to make it.

I don't want a presidential administration to dictate how amateur athletics should be handled because then it's subject to changing every administration and it becomes a massive distraction that might get debated on instead of real-world executive political issues.

Literally a political football.

If government has to get involved let it be legislatively and codified by law so it's more stable.

If they're spending $2 billion to make a video game, heads need to roll in that company.
GTA V has sold 210 million copies (second best-selling game of all time) and has generated nearly $9 billion for Rockstar Games.

$2 billion on what will almost certainly be an even bigger, more successful game is a pretty sure bet for them.

Kurt Angle. Olympic Gold Medalist ..
Kurt Angle is not even close lol. He only has 1 Olympic Gold, 1 World Championship gold, and 2 NCAA golds. Dan Gable has 2 NCAAs, a Pan-Am, a World Champ, and an Olympic Gold. Not to mention Cael Sanderson's career.

Probably the most decorated American is Jordan Burroughs: 2 NCAA golds, 4 US Open golds, 6 Grand Prix golds, 9 Pan-Am golds, 6 World Championships golds, 1 Olympic gold.

And I'd still say none of them are the goat. Alexander Kerelin (Russia) and Mijian Lopez (Cuba) are the goats.

Kerelin went 887-2 with both losses by 1pt. 3 Olympic golds and 1 silver. Lopez won 5 Olympic golds, including 2024 at the age of 42.

Wrasslin' aint real!

This is pretty dumb IMO. You always tell recruits and transfers they are coming to compete to start. Not you see depth and sit the bench.
That would seem to be missing the point. It isn't what they are telling them, it's what they are willing to pay. I'm sure the staff would be happy for better players to earn a starting spot, but I doubt starters are coming for depth money, regardless of what you tell them.

You offer what you offer. If they earn a starting spot, they potentially earn a raise. What you sell is opportunity.
