Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Let them be concerned. Heupel's job is to win COLLEGE football games. NFL's job is to evaluate talent and develop that talent within their system. We were highly successful for several years running the Wing-T. Didn't translate to college but our job was to win HIGH SCHOOL football games. The good players still were recruited (even WRs and TEs) and if they went to a good college program they were developed within the context of that system. NFL people griped for years about college QBs in the gun not knowing how to take the 3/5/7 step drops. They've since changed their tune. If Dante Thornton can play, he'll play. I'd be more concerned about him being made of glass than his route tree.
Which is fine. I agree that Heupel's job is to win games. I simply stated that Dante was being truthful. My point was why bash a kid for telling the truth? He was made of glass while here, but he still put on the uniform and, as far as I know, gave his all. Some people's "all" is more than others. We have people on here saying he's not a "VFL" because he answered an interview question honestly.

A.P. has been pretty consistent that the reason they are struggling to nab a WR is that they are telling portal WR's that they would be transferring to UT as depth pieces and would be paid as such. These dudes want starter positions and starter money and we just aren't going down that route atm.
These people need to realize winter= starting and spring= depth

I'm not much of a video games guy these days, but that GTA VI looks like it's gonna be pretty, pretty good. Can't believe they're spending nearly $2,000,000,000.00 to make it.

I don't want a presidential administration to dictate how amateur athletics should be handled because then it's subject to changing every administration and it becomes a massive distraction that might get debated on instead of real-world executive political issues.

Literally a political football.

If government has to get involved let it be legislatively and codified by law so it's more stable.

If they're spending $2 billion to make a video game, heads need to roll in that company.
GTA V has sold 210 million copies (second best-selling game of all time) and has generated nearly $9 billion for Rockstar Games.

$2 billion on what will almost certainly be an even bigger, more successful game is a pretty sure bet for them.
