Colorado transfer CB Colton Hood commits to UT

Why do they always say how many years left to play. That means absolutely nothing in today’s college game. Here today, gone tomorrow.
It should say something like how many other teams he still has the opportunity to play for before his eligibility ends. 🤭

Your last sentence pretty much says it all. Don’t like anything about what’s going on but I understand the need to play with the rules we now have. If you don’t, you get left in the dust.

No different here than any other school. If you leave, you’re a dog. If you stay, you’re a saint. Life in the real world.
The player losses would sting a lot less if our staff was doing a better job with the gains. Right now none of these guys feel like upgrades and our overall talent composite is embarrassing for a program like ours! I hate to keep harping on it but our staff's recruiting prowess is unimpressive. They may be good coaches, but they sure suck at getting elite talent on campus.

Volnation is an interesting paradox:

"I hate this free agency with guys transferring all the time. No loyalty. It's ruining college football...."

Upon picking up Colton Hood, who will be on his 3rd school in 3 years, "Great get....."
It is no paradox at all.

It only appears to be one to those who try to find objectivity among fan(atic)s.

We're tribal. Read the room. Understand the context. Makes perfect sense then.

Go Vols!

I'm guilty.

I hate it but I know it is what it is so I get excited when something good happens.

Sue me. Lol.

He’s 6’1 with cleats on. Doesn’t matter.
Lol. Yes it does matter. If he's not over 6 feet tall it's proven fact he will suck. And if for some reason he doesn't suck, it's going to disappoint a few in this thread.

I can believe we picked up a corner with only 34 tackles. Heupel is stoopit.

How do define experience?

The top programs in NCAA football have been fortifying their already strong rosters with high level/caliber transfers but TN goes middling.... Interesting dichotomy .
Can you explain how this signing is "middling"? Have you looked into it at all or just dropping an uninformed turd like usual?

Celebrating or lamenting during the process has no value add, and some losses are PROBABLY staff preferred or at least indifferent. Open slots can be preferred to their remaining.

Always risk/reward with pickups, and either side of the fan spectrum not recognizing that devalues their perception by rational folks.

Bet there are options in the portal better than those we could have added, so not being net at this time CANNOT be established as a bad thing.

It's a very good pickup, as we needed some depth with some experience since McCoy could be out the first couple of games.

Fully allows Caleb Beasley to move to safety.
Corners: Gibson, McCoy, McMurray, Hood.
Star: Boo, Jourdan Thomas, Goree
Safety: Turrentine, Jourdan Thomas, Beasley, Farooq.

According to On3, he is 6.1. I believe he was 5.11 coming out of high school. I guess we shall see the height on the UT roster.

I hope he is 6. 1. I’m just going by the Colo Football roster that has him listed at 5.11. Actual measurables are often less than what rosters assert.

From the video I watched, he has extremely quick feet. It appears his feet barely touch the ground when he’s running. His two returns of INTs were impressive. I also like he was effective in the B12, a great passing league. Looks like a great prospect.

Humans are this way. Paradoxical.

The ones that get defensive (not you) about it are the ones that make for the best comedy. It's as though they don't realize laughing at humanity keeps us sane.

Has 3 years remaining, but where at? lol

I've been bashed around by a few members when I have said I prefer taller CBs. 5'11" is good. 5'10" is good, but much shorter and the player is at a disadvantage on 50-50 balls.

I am optimistic about this young man.
Being Travis Hunter's understudy is not a knock on anyone.

He basically took up the entire last page having a conversation with himself that no one responded to. It’s starting to remind me of that dude from 12-13 years ago who hated Tyler Bray because Bray stole his girlfriend.

It’s not just height.
- wingspan
- vertical
- INSTINCTS

Give me a 5’9” 190 lbs CB that runs 4.3. Played QB in HS and hits like a truck along with a 40” vertical.
