2025 Transfer Portal

I’m sorry, but Coach Yo is putting together a really solid squad down there.
She is. No guarantees what she’ll do with it but she’s reeling in the pieces. I won’t be surprised if she ends up top 3 portal classes. And Fulwiley’s still out there, tho Yo seemed to push back yesterday at the thought of landing that big fish.

I feel like if current circumstances hold, the next ‘way too early’ will see the LVs and OM switch places, OM in the top 10 and LVs just outside it.

just don’t see how what they added and who they have is better than what we have and who we’re adding. i think they lost a lot and her transfers are always iffy when they come. she’s not a great coach, but a great personality and recruiter.

Right lol. It’s not. If you put a starting lineup of both teams right now and include our freshmen coming off the bench Tennessee is still a better team.
OM best player just got embarrassed in March Madness on their former school homecourt on a better team at Ohio State than Ole Miss will be this upcoming season.
Folks just yapping on this forum.
Tennessee ain’t moving out of ESPN early Top 10 for no Ole Miss unless Charlie does it for clickbait.

Tennessee is building one of the most explosive and talented teams in WBB.
Coach Caldwell is one of the best coaches in the country.
This team will be special in 2025-2026.

Folks was talking crazy on here I see. I like how you don't back down to them. Coach Kim Caldwell and her staff has a plan and apparently it's working to a T! Nobody new who Zee Spearman was, nobody new who Alyssa Latham was, nobody new what Tay Coop would look like either under the new staff. Let me remind the ones in the back...Coach Kim Caldwell has WON every where she's been at and at every level. She also DEVELOPS players. So fans who don't believe...have a SEAT! We don't need players who want this and that type money. Nya Robertson, Kaniya Boyd, Mia & Mya Pauldo are fixing to be a problem in the SEC.

Agree and said it’s a big unknown how Yo will coach them up. But adding McMahon, Lattimore, Taylor, all players we said immediately when they portaled would be very good gets for us, is a nice class for her. Poe is also a good rotation piece for her.

The difference in OM and us is they’ll be counting on experienced, proven players for their boost and we’re counting on freshmen.

I recall a lot of people saying no to Cotie, so I certainly don’t get where everyone was pushing for the players that OM signed to come to Tennessee. Barely heard any discussion on many of them except from the same posters that want UT coaches to sign every player that enters the portal.
The difference is Tennessee added 3 McDAAs in addition to 2 Top 50 players and a transfer that was 2nd Team All-ACC that averaged 18.5ppg.
The LVs will bring in a full portal class that is yet to be completed.

I think our returning core is much stronger than her returning core or lack thereof. She's going to have to mix and meld her portal pieces that are coming from mid teams plus Cotie who apparently can be quite the firecracker. We have a core 5 returnees to set the tone and for the freshman to look up to a bit. I like our position much better, and will like it even more if we land some length.

The more I watch film on Nya Robertson, I come away more and more impressed.
You have to watch her vs the top guards in the ACC as opposed to SMU vs Florida State, Louisville, Georgia Tech etc.
I saw someone talking about the North Carolina performance and some others that were bad games I’m going to check out.
The key to this signing is that as a player Nya has the skillset to match up with any guard in the country. She’s versatile for her size as well can finish at the rim.
She’s like a mix between Jasmine Powell and Ruby Whitehorn.
I believe she can average double figures at Tennessee.
Great fit and addition to the team.

What about a Post Player???

She literally had nothing left on the roster, so she had to get some players. There's a couple nice ones there, but I don't see them any better that they were this year. Actually I see them taking a step back.

They look worse to me. No post play (lattimore wont cut it in the sec, im certain) and no guard play. They have a bunch of small forwards/big guards. Which is how her teams always look and they always struggle to score.

I disagree. She doesn’t have a ball handler yet and still no post presence. Lattimore will not be effective in the SEC with the system they run.
Well you’re a certified Coach Yo hater so no matter what she does, you wouldn’t approve. 🥴 How was Lattimore a good fit for us, but not for Ole Miss?

Looks like the staff is going after Ashton Judd, still not a post player.
She does fill in as a three point shooter. She gets in there and rebounds a little as well. Would be a nice pickup instead of Todd. Fills the same role but better rebounder. Career 37 percent from the three.

I wouldn't look but for one post player probably could be someone who wouldn't even be considered a post player more a stretch four. I suspect would be a similar player to Latham and Spearman.

I figured out quite early both in high school recruiting and portal were not going after the big post players. We would add someone like Barker if interested she is 6'4" but still fits the mold of a run the court can play more than one position forward.
