For a true freshman on a terrible 2-10 MSST team, YES, he was solid. Played UGA better than any QB we had since Dobbs. All his starts came again SEC teams with the exception of 1 game. He will start for LSU in 2026.

Looked like a gamer to me. Hard to put up video game stats with that crappy team, as a true freshman.

I’m not on the bandwagon of Vols fans saying Nico sucked. He was really good, and I expected him to be even better this year.

Um, they will need to compete with Merk anyway. The staff would be insane to hand over the team to a QB without a competition. That would cause issues on the team. They got rid of 1 issue, and you want to start another.

Sure but you're also not getting a high quality starter from another team without a decent $ number and a promise that they're the likely starter. What P4 QB is going to give up their starting role elsewhere without that

That’s the most important factor. They shouldn’t be concerned about how this new QB will affect the guys on the roster or even a recruit like Faizon. Gone are the days of stacking talent to develop for the future. You can’t avoid bringing in a great QB now because Faizon might decommit. Faizon might decommit anyway.
