I would not say I feel very bad for Nico. Trusting your parents and doing what they say is not some unforgivable sin. Now whatever idiot told him to skip practice and he listened, that's on him. Very hard to come back from that one from an image perspective. Nico has been around team sports long enough to know that.

But the family of sociopaths angle... cmon'. It is much simpler than that. A polynesian family with zero ties to the area saw East TN as a check to be cashed. They did not care about the people here, the university, the football program as a whole, nothing. We saw the exact same thing happen with TooToo.

What you called "toxic control, lies, and manipulation" I would simply call a group of incompetent people barely qualified to tie their own shoes play-acting as agents. And they screwed up their kid's image. Not because of some Machiavellian angle, but because they were out over their skiis.

I think you're just using different words to describe the same thing. And I said Nico deserves to carry his own blame. But you can also note the tragedy and waste in all of this, no matter what descriptive words one uses.

No mowing for me for a while. Having the first of my hips replaced on Thursday, so I will be unable to complete my lawn care duties and responsibilities. Good news is, crocs are not forbidden in the recovery phase.

I had leg purthes disease as a kid. It increases the likelihood of having to have hip replacement surgery. So far I have been able to avoid it. for a quick recovery.

He is still insanely respected in the NFL and still has a ton of connections

for how this whole thing blew up in the family's face, they have mitigated total disaster if they end up at UNC

it doesn't save Nico, he will still have to be perfect on and off the field, but it has stopped a ton of doors from closing completely

All of this Nico business is a cluster on the part of Nico's family. I think dad panicked.Believe me this is not a shock to the staff and behind the scenes "negotiation" has been going on since the end of the season. Nico's camp was told that their demands would not be met and dad decided to call their bluff in public. Nico didn't have a good spring, Merk did. Dad thought he was holding a pair of aces with a king high when he had a pair of twos and a 5 high.
I truly think the staff was surprised at the stupidity of this move but they had no recourse other than to let Nico go.
Nico's dad really f'd him over.

I’m not worried about it. Kid never actually knew the offense anyways why the heck does everyone think we went so slow.

Nico never had it in between the ears.

I usually agree with you on most things. I only partially agree here. Bill took a major hit in the NFL. Nico took a major hit at both levels. Did they maybe both stave off total irrelevance by cozying up together - sure. Did they salvage their damaged images to this point? Hell no.

Wife had one of hers done about 6 weeks ago. Used a walker for about 2 weeks. Done with therapy. Pretty much back to normal now.

I have hear this same thing over and over. Very routine and pretty rapid recovery.

I am 44, but 27 years of military service does not go easy on the body....even for us pogues.

Prayers to all dealing with that. I partially wish my mom would try knee replacement. She has been bone on bone for decades and it has messed her hip and back up too. Hard to convince the stubborn, but i love her fight either way.

Well, I have put this off and put this off because I kept thinking I am just too young. However, when taking a leisurely walk around the neighborhood with the Mrs. leaves me in deep aching pain it is defiantly time to act. Not sure what purthes disease is, but prayers that you are living life to the absolute fullest.

I can see the chance it could. But you also partnered 2 guys people love to hate. Could end up being can't look away TV. IMO and make them look worse in some ways.
