Actually wouldn’t be surprised if DW orchestrated the leak. The man knows how to win a PR battle.

I agree, the reason I feel confident it was DW who leaked or ok'd the leak was the lack of response. There was no need for us to spin or correct the narrative because what we wanted out got out.

He controlled the narrative and put this university in the best possible light making the best of of an unfortunate and underhanded situation. We needed a clean break without looking like the bad guy or taken advantage of.

This has been handled extremely well. Danny White just earned another raise IMO. This is exactly the kind of situation that would have blown up in our face in the past.

I could easily see UNC making the bonkers, all in desperation move - lacking morality - that will be needed to hire Nico. Not saying they will, but they and Colorado would be my guesses thus far. As programs that put winning at all costs above being good, decent human beings. Money is king, all else be damned.

I’m not sure they put winning above all costs. Not like they’ve been doing a lot of that.

But culture fit maybe checks out.

Twitter rumors aside, we're not paying anyone 4M. We'll get a serviceable backup in case of need, to make a 3 man roster.

I think we’ll pursue someone who will easily compete for QB1. I agree we won’t pay 4 million, not anywhere close. I think Nico’s deal will be the ceiling even though it’s been put out there that we may pay more (bait). I doubt anyone we pursue has that rich of a deal already so it’s likely a pay raise for them anyways and a program upgrade.

I don’t think people realize, how little organized football Nico had played. It took him longer to absorb. I think he’s a smart kid, but will take awhile for him to get that football I Q

I've actually considered this last year.......... Another thing that over considered/questioned was how much love he had for the game. I think Nico is a competitor, I think he likes athletics. I'm just not sure how much he "loves" the game of football.
