Apple already has production facilities in India.
I am aware it isn't easy. I've done it before - China to Mexico under Trump the last time around. Tim Cook has the bat phone. I'm assuming he used it before making this decision.Ok, let's say its as easy and snapping the fingers and ramping production up / down between jurisdictions (its not). Then trump fires off new tariffs on both locations.
No one knows or understands what he's doing or will do next. Markets don't like that.
Well, manufacturing is returning.Mostly the critical fallacy in thinking that manufacturing can return here and produce goods at a competitive price. We are way past that in the world today and those days are over. It's not going to happen.
Trump seems to think at times that the governments pay it.
The “formula” was all the detail I needed. It’s moronic. It sounds as if you just don't like the process..and that's is fine...but you don't know the all the details...when nothing he has done has had a permanent impact..yet...if it does then people will join your complaining..but until then is come across as personal complaint especially your last line where you couldn't even give him credit if it works out in favor of the US.
If you watched the video Netanyahu actually said “reciprocal trade” too. And I know Bibi probably did ok at high school algebra so he can absorb the highly technical formula. He knows where he needs to sending all of that sucking up toYAY! Donnie got a pledge from the nation with whom we've had the longest continuous free trade agreement! Way to go, Donnie! This was all totally worth it!
If I were king, I would hire all those IRS agents that Biden wanted, then do away with employer withholding. The ensuing revolt as people would be required to write a check or watch the money debited out of their account would be deliciousSmart man. Most Americans don't think of that way ("the right way").
I think that “rare earth metals” might not be the best choice of a name. China is more so creating value added metals rather than having exclusivity of pulling them out of the ground. The base materials are in places like North Carolina and the southwestern US deserts. And Greenland and probably Canada. I think that China has REMs for inputs as a byproduct of manufacturing other things. It’s just been more economical to buy from them than it is to create our own process from scratch.
