Trade Wars and Tariffs

This is the kind of thing a commy would chuckle about if Bernie Sanders were wiping out the market.
kewl... I’m old enough to remember that in 2022 the Nasdaq dropped 30% and the S&P 500 was down 20% and the media spent the year telling us that we weren’t in a recession and in fact the definition of a recession we had always used wasn’t actually correct.

Now we need to see Tim Cook do the patriotic things and at least move from China to Vietnam.

But he won't.

Apple is selling about 50 million iPhones to Chinese consumers each year, so Timmy might not have much leverage to fully pull out of China. But instead of expanding manufacturing there to fulfill the demand in the US consumer market he needs to phase out that production and bring it home.

What does this have to do with anything?

Why is a True Patriot™ like yourself not already using the American-made alternative?

The media did do that, but the definition of a recession has nothing to do with the stock market.

There's a media story this afternoon that the plan is to produce more iphones in India.

My iPhone was a birthday gift that I received 5 years ago. I’ll need to upgrade soon or at least get a new battery.

I don’t virtue signal with my consumer staple purchases. I’ll buy what the stores offer. Love me the Mexican Drug Cartel Avocados. My Fruit of the Looms probably come from Cambodian sweat shops. If I was a drinker though, I would opt for the Tennessee Sipping Whiskey.

But does that thing come as a Jitterbug? The cataract in my right eye ain’t getting any better.

Well, get you a sip of sweet tea or something else tonight after surviving Black Monday

Illegal? Not that I know it? Unethical? Maybe not sure how ethics really apply here. Absolutely moronic, unnecessarily ham fisted, blatantly incompetent and lacking any basic knowledge of economics? Yep that fits to a T.

Look I’ll go ahead and save you the time. There is no scenario where I can be convinced this is 5D chess. If it somehow winds up a net positive as far as I’m concerned it will be a blind squirrel finding a nut.
It sounds as if you just don't like the process..and that's is fine...but you don't know the all the details...when nothing he has done has had a permanent impact..yet...if it does then people will join your complaining..but until then is come across as personal complaint especially your last line where you couldn't even give him credit if it works out in favor of the US.

I have serious questions as to the state of emergency that he declared in order to bypass Congress. That's constitutionally dubious.
Is it illegal? Nope it is something allowed by the government correct. He is not acting outside his power or doing anything illegal.
Basically it all come down to I don't like Trump and what he is doing..even tho he has done nothing to hurt me permanently..

The media changed the definition of a recession from negative GDP growth for 2 consecutive quarters to a convoluted formula than Biden barely passed (and ultimately failed once the numbers were revised)
