They will be good at their positions. What you need to compete for a title is inside strength. You need the guards, but must have the post. UCLA had the post no guards that could score effectively. UConn had guards and an inside game.

So Car really appeared to throw in the towel midway thru the third quarter. You don’t usually see that, even though it was clear they had no chance

Agree, stellar career from Bueckers and after all the serious injuries, a championship is well deserved. Easy to appreciate how hard she works at being a good defender and all around player.

Geno is a business minded leader, and you can tell after facing Coach Caldwell and getting beat while UConn scored 76 points and played as good as they have all season that Tennessee resurgence has come full circle and the greats recognize this.
This reinvigorated UConn and Geno to get over that hump. I don’t know if any other loss would’ve impacted UConn the way that loss in Knoxville did. He just stated how that changed his team’s chemistry and goals of the entire season! That was a phenomenal take. Go touch grass because all the false claims and child-like takes trying to discredit Tennessee win over UConn, the top recruiting class in HS in year 1 featuring 5 elite recruits who just took over the headlines following the McAAG, was just diminished by Coach Geno in front of millions of fans on National Tv. The end of VN circus clowns era by no other than Coach Geno who would’ve thought it lol.
Kudos to UConn. S/O to the Lambo Vols.

Doesn’t Strong hit a lot of 3’s, so what kind of inside player do u think we need to compete for a Championship nexy year, give me a name?

Total failure against SC. Two missed free throws. A double dribble twice. Failure to guard the inbounds play. Three chances to win. Player failed. Ref failed. Coach Failed.

Perhaps it will change but really good players will make more with NIL then what they’re going to earn playing in the W, even with the new contract, so I think most women players will stay in college until they graduate.

Williams and Cunningham even Weimar would be better than getting Latson to throw up twenty shots. They all can rebound and score a little. Well below the talent of Strong. No one in the portal or high school of her caliber. Betts would be about the best out of high school.

Facts! I stand by the landscape of women’s college basketball being different if we hadn’t lost ours. Starting with that 2013 class, we would’ve had the #1,2, and 3 players in that class! Water under the bridge, but something I think about every time we don’t make a FF!

Getting one of them give us a chance to win the conference not any players in the portal that will make you a championship team. There are just players that make you better than you are now. You would need Betts to get in the portal might give you a shot.

Yes we did more than we had this season. Spearman is good and so is Latham, but the way we let teams get second chance points and offensive rebounds has to be stopped. That alone would give us a lot more wins. Key prevented a lot of that to bad that illness cost her in ability.

I doubt that will be a focus of emphasis were that to happen. Portal signings seem to have become a little more critical. Also makes me wonder what Watkins will do.
