Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t really care if Nashville gets an MLB team. I’ve been a Braves fan for so long that it wouldn’t change anything for me. Besides, most Tennesseans already root for the Braves, Cardinals, Yankees, Cubs, or Dodgers. I think bringing an MLB team to Tennessee would be a waste.

Same here. Been a Braves fan since 1982. I'd add Reds to teams Tennesseeans root for. There's a bunch of them in NE Tennessee..

Yup. I am one, though not as radical about my fandom as I was in my younger days.

My dad played semi-pro in the coal mining camp league in east TN after WW II before I was born. He was a Reds fan all of his life which passed to me. The orientation of baseball fans around here was more toward Cincy, the Braves were still in Milwaukee. Kids were influenced by it as many had family that had moved that way with the migration on the Hillbilly Highway for jobs after the war and when the mines started shutting down. You could catch a train around here and ride to downtown Cincy's station, which was a short distance from Crosley Field. Especially when you had family nearby to stay with while there.

I did it as a young kid. Still remember it all - the sights, the smells, the sounds. Great memories.

I use it for almost everything. The sensitivity when cranking is awesome. Have to keep in mind the no stretch so I don't use on any fast action rods. Knot tying I agree with, the only knot I have confidence in is the old polamor (sp) knot. I grew up using 12# stren and that's only because Bill Dance told me to. I've actually become very fond of all suffix lines, their mono is top notch too. I use it for my worm rods.

Every rod I got has some kind of suffix line on it. Been using it for years good price and great products.

PGA didn’t start testing for PEDs until 2008 - after the HGH wave that swept professional sports.

Go look at pictures of Tiger from 1997. Then go look at pictures from 2005 or 2007 - it’s like Barry Bonds 2.0

Maybe it was just coincidence that he was cavorting with HGH doctors and trainers during the HGH era.

Yup. Major coverup. How quickly folks can conveniently forget the investigative reports and evidence. They crucify the players in other sports who did it and totally ignore Tiger, who was already great before he started using.

The tour went all in to sell the narrative for another GOAT to drive interest in the game globally. It worked for a time. Now it is floundering over it and LIV with no icon golfer to serve its imaging needs. Which was the problem, they thought they needed imaging when they already had one of the best stories and histories in sports. The game speaks for itself if it is kept pure from the crap that can cause it problems. The truth is there have been a number of GOATs subject to era in time. That's the narrative to sell. The history and tradition are good things, not bad. Sure, adapt to changes in society, but don't throw the beautiful baby out with the bathwater.

For example, very few in the game have ever had a better season than Scottie last year. Add in Xander with two majors. Sell that and all of the great young talent in the game. Mend fences with LIV and be about the game of golf.

Y'all wanna get pissed off at the NCAA this morning?

Tyler Brennan, the PAC12 wrestling champion at 174lbs from UA-Little Rock got disqualified from the NCAA Championships AFTER the brackets had already been created for being "ineligible."

The NCAA says he can't compete in 5 postseasons.

Here's his career:
2020 - went 1-2 at the PAC12 duels, Covid cancelled PAC12 individual tournament.
2021 - did not compete
2022 - 5th in PAC12 individual
2023 - 4th in PAC12 individual
2024 - 2nd in PAC12 ind. Did not qualify for NCAAs by ranking.
2025 - PAC12 champion, NCAA qualifier.

So, because he wrestled in the team duels his freshman year that qualified as postseason competition. Since he didn't actually compete in 2021, he didn't technically qualify for his "Covid year" and both the NCAA and UALR missed this.

This blew up yesterday because someone on a wrestling podcast covering the tournament questioned it off-the-cuff. Just one comment. Listeners got on a forum and confirmed the podcaster's speculation that this would technically be his 5th but everyone assumed he'd gotten the paperwork handled. NCAA officials caught wind of the discussion and disqualified him immediately.

UALR lawyers have filed an emergency review, the NCAA will make a ruling today. Should he be disqualified, his runner-up in the PAC12 won't get the auto-bid, but the next highest-ranked wrestler "First 4 out" will.

Absolutely nuthousery.

I have to disagree, even though I love the Vols star logo. The Tri-Star can never be overused. UT is the flagship university of the state and the new logo represents that well.



And this is coming from a guy who has both logos on different vehicles.

I used to sit in the car and listen to the Reds game with my uncle. Couldn't get it on the radio in the house. That was 70 years ago.
