Nah, not dense. Just making sure I'm 100% that you're simply a "taxation is theft" guy and you think ALL social outcomes (job training programs, trying to mitigate homelessness, revitalizing infrastructure to promote economic growth) are bad uses of our money. This mean education, too? After all, that's looking for a social outcome.

With a true security guarantee, there are no American boots on ground.
That you're calling it a corrupt shithole shows your hand. We get it. "Basically no reason" OTHER THAN WE PUSHED FOR THE AGREEMENT THAT RUSSIA IS BREAKING and offered...you got it....security guarantees.

We are the world police. Until we pull out of all these far-flung bases, we are that role. We made the agreements, we signed on, we need to stick to our word.

Isolation isn't an economic or diplomatic positive.

you need to actually read up on what our word actually says.

all we assured them was that the US wouldn't violate their territorial sovereignty.

at this point isolation probably would be a diplomatic positive. there is a reason everyone likes Switzerland, and doesn't like us. and not being in EVERY SINGLE nation doesn't make us isolationists. it would be nice to actually side with people who actually side with us for once; instead of relying on an enemy of and enemy to not become an enemy later.

Not sure if serious, we've had tariffs since basically the beginning of the country.

No State shall, without the Consent of the Congress, lay any Imposts or Duties on Imports or Exports, except what may be absolutely necessary for executing it's inspection Laws: and the net Produce of all Duties and Imposts, laid by any State on Imports or Exports, shall be for the Use of the Treasury of the United States; and all such Laws shall be subject to the Revision and Control of the Congress.

You sure seem to be, the way you keep coming back to subsidies.

The Federal Tax Code should be a mechanism to fund the Federal Government.

It should not be a device used to punish one segment of the population, to the benefit of another segment of the population.

If you are collecting checks from “has enough” Group A, so you can distribute checks to “needy” Group B, you are attempting to drive social outcomes via the tax code.
