Trump Assassination Attempt(s)

Some hardware store also sell guns and ammo, IDK if that's the case in PA or not but it's not unusual.

There's a gun store here in Gallatin that sells flooring.
true... plus this is in PA home of about 900,000 registered hunters. Probably every mom & pop there sells guns.

I'm pro-life. I believe that abortion constitutes murder -- the murder, moreover, of the very most innocent and defenseless among us. I also support the rule of law, and I oppose vigilante justice (not to mention the death penalty). If some frenzied soul murders an abortionist, it doesn't follow that my words are to blame or that I should stop calling abortion murder.

If someone believes that Mr. Trump "is an evil dictator who won't leave once he's in office," then he has a duty to say so. Viewing Mr. Trump as a danger to our Republic doesn't constitute advocating vigilante justice or political violence. If some frenzied soul subsequently attempts an assassination, it doesn't follow that the first man's words are to blame or that he should stop voicing his concerns because of a would-be assassin's madness.

We simply can't allow our public discourse to be governed by the fear of how our words might be processed by the minds of the criminally insane.

At no point have I recommended government action against anyone’s speech.

All very true but what we should be demanding from our elected officials is discussions on policy and for them to drop the absurd labels.

Or MJT, or (insert name of WWE fan here). Its going to cut both ways. Direction to put a lid on it should come from the top and be repeated. Biden has done so now several times already. Trump once that I know of but he has an opportunity Thursday night to really turn the ship around. If he thanked Biden for his call Saturday and for his prayers, and then immediately said "but I'm going to defeat you in November based on policies and merit" he'd gain a lot of respect from me.

Couple problems here 1) Biden called for cooling things down then says he hasn't engaged in any heated rhetoric himself but Trump has. Goes on to repeat Trump is a real threat to democracy claim. 2) MJT should shut the hell up for sure. Has she called for the rhetoric to be toned down?

The hypocrisy statement is merited when you (Biden) make a plea for it then not only deny you engaged yourself but double down on the heated rhetoric. He didn't mean a bit of what he said in his addresses to the nation.

No, but you did very strongly imply that the free speech of some caused (or at least strongly contributed to) Saturday's attempted assassination:

I can’t imagine why anyone would attempt to kill someone the left has told them is an evil dictator who wont leave once he’s in office.

Shooting a former president and presidential nominee at a political rally seems like sufficient evidence, to me.

If evidence that he was just crazy like Jared Loughner comes out, then maybe it rebuts that presumption, but gonna need something to overcome the obvious, here.

I just have no faith in the FBI, if there are messages ext in his phone saying he did this to save democracy, help Biden, Roe v Wade, pick a reason it will not be released.

I disagree. I've seen drag queens very sexual in nature. For the life of me I can't understand why they are so obsessed with having them read to children. What people do when they're adults is of no business of mine. There is a motive around wanting to introduce children to it.
It’s to normalize that type of behavior for children. It’s an indoctrination. Nothing more.

We also should make the legal standard, our personal standard.

I don’t think adultery, meth, prostitution, crack cocaine, or calling someone the last president should be illegal. I also don’t think those are things anyone should practice

C'mon... this is BS

Bought a ladder and...: What shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks did before Donald Trump assassination attempt

1. The ladder shown next to building was not a 5 foot ladder.
2. Let's say he did buy a ladder that day, how did he get it and a rifle past security?
3. How did he get a 5 ft ladder in a Hyundai Sonata?
I think it was @RockyTop85 who made what I thought was an excellent point about the ladder. The still frames of the ladder were well after the shooting. Taken from a helicopter. It could be that ladder had zero to do with the roof access of the shooter adn everything to do with LEO and SS personnel getting up there.

We don't know for sure because info is still coming out, but I think that line of thinking is reasonable.

I'm slow this morning, what do you mean by this?

Those things are unbelievably heavy for a ladder. Very sturdy though

I have a love/hate relationship with mine. I'm like this thing sucks trying to get all setup, get all pissed off - wanting to throw it in the dump. Than I'm able to do something a normal ladder would never ever be able to do... I'm like this is awesome!!

Possibly... but let us run with it. The ladder he would have needed to climb the roof had to be at least twice as long. How does he transport it there? And when does he transport it there?
It would fit in the trunk or back seat and still reach probably 16 or 18'. The ladder thing doesn't really make me think conspiracy.

Its called common sense.

Marketing is all about trying to convince people of something, to say marketing can't and doesn't work is insane.

100s of billions are spent on marketing per year for a reason.
We just do this song and dance every time something like this happens and the sides are just reversed.

With Paul Pelosi there was “no evidence” the guy was influenced MAGA and rhetoric doesn’t make people do bad things, anyways.

Now, there’s “no evidence” the guy was politically motivated.

Political rhetoric has taken on this fairy tale quality of good vs. evil. There are a lot of disturbed people out there who are motivated by that. Both sides are past the threshold of having somebody act on their rhetoric and commit violence.

What is the point of selectively using a political bludgeon when everybody knows you defended the same thing last time? What is the point of trying to fend off political bludgeons when everybody knows you were the one wielding it last time?

Must have missed it. I'll go back. I saw a video of a white van that the "news" said was his yesterday.
saw that too.... there was an eye witness - the homeowner where the perp parked the van - who said what happened when they took it away on a flatbed. It looked like a beat up chevy van to me.. and the eyewitness said it had AZ tags which i thought was odd.

edit here is the interview... if now there is another vehicle???
