Trump Assassination Attempt(s)

And yet his name will be recorded for posterity whereas the murdered fire chief's name will be forgotten within a few days.

I hope the chief's family will receive his full pension if he was due one upon retirement.
Someone posted that the donations to the family are already over $1 million.... but that can never replace Corey Comperatore as a dad or husband.

And Trump said it would be a bloodbath
And after this I won't be surprised if some looney takes a shot at Biden. That said, I understand the point of you posting that, it doesn't change my point that LG claims his side never says anything like that.

How Democrats Relentlessly Dialed Up Violent Rhetoric Against Trump before assassination attempt — Comparing him to Hitler

Democrats’ rhetoric stoking fear and hatred against former President Donald Trump — including repeated comparisons to Adolf Hitler — is coming into a harsh new light following the assassination attempt against him on Saturday.

Trump’s political opponents have long used incendiary language in response to his more controversial statements — commonly casting him as a cartoon villain hellbent on bringing about the end of democracy itself.

Their divisive statements frequently include tossing around words like “dictator” or making overt references to the Holocaust or Nazi Germany.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), who is vying to succeed Sen. Mitch McConnell as Senate Majority leader, wrote on X, “Democrats and liberals in the media have called Trump a fascist. They’ve compared him to Hitler. This isn’t some unfortunate incident, this was an assassination attempt by a madman inspired by the rhetoric of the radical left.”

Just last Monday, President Biden himself said it’s “time to put Trump in a bullseye” in a now-wince-inducing quote from a private call with hundreds of democratic donors, Politico reported at the time.

The unfortunate wording brought to mind remarks NY Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman made last November in an MSNBC interview with former White House press secretary Jen Psaki, saying Trump should be “eliminated” over his alleged role in the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

Young staffers including aides to President Biden have reportedly taken to calling Trump “Hitler Pig” behind closed doors.

NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez drew criticism in 2019 when she accused the Trump administration of running “concentration camps” on the US-Mexico border.

The far-left “Squad” member also used the term “never again” in her condemnation of the way illegal immigrants were being housed at the border, which is commonly associated with the Holocaust.

”I don’t use those words lightly. I don’t use those words to just throw bombs,” she said. “I use the word because that’s what an administration that creates concentration camps is. A presidency that creates concentration camps is fascist and it’s very difficult to say that.”

Here's my answer to someone who unimaginatively posts the same old Equus caballus excretion.

Sittin' here eatin' my heart out waitin'
Waitin' for joevol33 to call me
Dialed joevol about a thousand times lately
Almost rang the phone off the wall

Lookin' for joevol33 this evenin'
I expect more Equus caballus excretion;
To fertilize front his mustache to stop his sneezin
I'd deflect also 🤣

I wonder if someone on the other extreme will now try and target Biden? Or if we'll see more attempts on Trump? The political division in this country is off the rails. You have more and more people clinging to their political ideology as the only way forward. This country was built on the art of compromise, but no one wants to do that anymore. It's become all or nothing.
If Biden is offed it will be by his own side. Wouldn't be surprised if he just doesn't wake up one day.

Except that the "bloodbath" term was clearly used in the context of a speech about the auto industry and clearly referring to the loss of jobs and failure of manufacters in that particular industry. It had nothing to with loss of human life or spilling of human blood.

Biden's reference, while supposedly a figure of speech, was aimed directly at one specific individual...Donald Trump.

Huge difference, and really no calc comparison between the two remarks.
I know how reach we're used and there's not really a huge difference of you're completely honest. It's 2 words taken or if context to make someone look bad. Same as when Palin used the same word

I'll expand on your criteria a little bit but agree in principle with you.

Human Error
Incompetence
Neglience
Willful Neglience
Intentional

Safe to say this goes beyond basic human error. It's not an intentional hit or Trump would be dead right now.

It's one of the other 3....
I know this goes into woo woo territory.. but my husband offers another selection.. they knew he was going to be up there, and planned to shoot him after he got a few shots off

Marjorie Taylor-Greene compared mask mandates to Jews being forced to wear gold stars in occupied Europe during the Holocaust. The Nazi analogies are wrong. However, both parties are guilty of it. Trump has done this as well.

Agree. That would be an awful scenario. Hope everyone on the right understands that would completely undermine any advantage, surge or momentum Trump may have received from yesterday’s events if they want to see him elected again. We would be in even a worse place.

While there are dozens of reasons why someone might try to pull a Travis Buckle, one could argue that it was a rational decision if someone found Democrat talking points to be convincing.

After all, if the fate of democracy itself hangs upon the removal of one person, wouldn't that seem justified? The constant drumbeat is that, if Trump is re+elected, minorities will be put into chains, women will lose all their rights and will die by the millions in back alleys, voting rights will disappear, public education will collapse, the environment will die, the poor will starve even as the middle class disappears, all the crops will die on the vine for lack any pickers, Trump will never vacate the office, etc.

Who could imagine that such prospects could possibly provoke any violent actions from a population of 330 million people to take action to save mankind? It's the stuff legends are made of.

that is a huge question... it looked like the counter snipers had the failed assassin literally in their sights and let him get off 5 shots... how is that possible? what were the orders?

Won't surprise me a bit. I know people who just prefer Trump over Biden, and I know people personally that's like it's a cult to worship him. To be fair,I know Biden people that way.
