Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

This reminds me of a young @McDad .

Also describes the ending to that game.

What a turn of events

My how those turns tabled.

*also totally opposite of BasketVols season, I dropped my daughter off and turned the game on in the 7th with the good guys down by 4 at 11-7. Watched us absolutely clutch the clutchest clutch that has ever risen to meet the moment. To start batting in the bottom of the 9th with batters numbered 6th 7th and 8th yet see those guys come through for their teammates again and again. Great coaching to pinch hit Peebles also. Clutch and clutch. That was the greatest comeback and baseball game I have ever seen. I am still jacked up off adrenaline. The VOLS are so amazing guys. Bet the football team and the ~22 recruits we have on campus really enjoyed the show as well. Amazing.

Some little touches which I think are the right way to do a reno. Cost a bit more, but worth it to me.

Original brick has a "wire cut" finish. I think it's ugly but I wanted it to match where we converted a door or closed a window opening. So, found a supplier who had the closest I could find. Had to purchase a cube. No idea what we will do with the leftover.

Original cinder block...I think it's called a masonry block unit now (MBU???) but they had these single pane windows in the opening. To a crawl space. I have no idea why. So, we closed them up and put a finish coat of mortar to match existing finish. Brick work is expensive. But experienced labor is worth it.

Probably my favorite little extra touch. Original house had these decorative touches at the corners. Some had been lost since it was built. So, my guy took one of the two remaining and made a pattern. Reinstalled at the corners and carried the theme on the porch overhangs.

House will be painted a pine-ish green. White trim. Going to stain the post and maybe the gable to match. I'm guessing white around the edge of the gable. Only problem is cant do the gable on the side porch or the gables of the house the same. So kinda torn as to the right way to go.

Suggestions?

Going to put trex-type deck boards over the concrete porches. Band it with same product. McRib chose a tan with lots of other small colors added in. Called coastal something.
Here’s what I do with the leftovers IMG_0306.jpeg

Unfortunately I lost a tree in the outdoor shower area that’s eating my spare time right now. View attachment 648938

Our brains have been trained to see a stump or tree that needs cut and think "chainsaw!!" Those are the only images i ever saw anyway.

A sawzall with a 9in blade is incredibly effective at cutting trees and can often get around, behind, or under places which you cant put a chain without it touching the ground or hurting you/surroundings. Thats a big ole stump you have there though, i hate that you lost that tree.

Rewatched the highlights this morning. Yall realize we had 2 doubles getting thru the back end of the lineup, then went double-double-single-double starting with CMO batters 1-4. Know whats crazy? All but maybe 1 of those 5 doubles would have been a HR at UT or FSUs ballparks. We would have walked off sooner anywhere but that monster park in Omaha...
