Some little touches which I think are the right way to do a reno. Cost a bit more, but worth it to me.

Original brick has a "wire cut" finish. I think it's ugly but I wanted it to match where we converted a door or closed a window opening. So, found a supplier who had the closest I could find. Had to purchase a cube. No idea what we will do with the leftover.

Original cinder block...I think it's called a masonry block unit now (MBU???) but they had these single pane windows in the opening. To a crawl space. I have no idea why. So, we closed them up and put a finish coat of mortar to match existing finish. Brick work is expensive. But experienced labor is worth it.

Probably my favorite little extra touch. Original house had these decorative touches at the corners. Some had been lost since it was built. So, my guy took one of the two remaining and made a pattern. Reinstalled at the corners and carried the theme on the porch overhangs.
House will be painted a pine-ish green. White trim. Going to stain the post and maybe the gable to match. I'm guessing white around the edge of the gable. Only problem is cant do the gable on the side porch or the gables of the house the same. So kinda torn as to the right way to go.
Suggestions?
Going to put trex-type deck boards over the concrete porches. Band it with same product. McRib chose a tan with lots of other small colors added in. Called coastal something.
