Serious question because I just started following Vol baseball two years ago, and never been a big MLB fan either. Why do they say our ball park is easy to hit dingers? Is it smaller than your typical college ball park or something?

Side bar: when I lived in Nashville for a few years I became really close friends with James Atkins younger brother. I do remember randomly tuning in to him just dominating the college World Series can’t remember what year. Use to ask his brother a lot of questions about James UT playing days.
LNS has shorter distances, especially down the lines. However, that does not always translate into more HRs as LSU learned last week.

The wind plays a huge part at LNS. When the wind is blowing right to left, the dominate direction, if the LH power pull hitters are fly ball instead of line drive types, the ball will rarely go out; it gets blown back into the field. The RH power pull hitters will hit into left field and the same wind can blow the ball foul. As a result, the style of hitting the opposing team has that benefits their play for half the schedule on their home field, can work against them when coming to LNS.

We are fortunate that we have a good number of hitters in our line up that are line drive hitters who can also hit tape measure rockets to all fields. Which is why we are averaging 10 runs per game.

The teams that can go with the pitches and hit line drives to the opposite field with power as needed are the ones that succeed overall over the course of a season. You need that at LNS most of the time.

This **** always makes me laugh. Fulmer had his faults but he is no where near the dirtiest coach in SEC history 😂. Hell there is a current SEC basketball coach who had a player murder someone after another player provided the murder weapon!

Phillip Fulmer never even won the "Fulmer Cup".

Don’t PL teams have like a third of the players NFL teams do?
Closer to half. A squad with good depth will be about ~25 players. NFL team is 52 (edit: 53). Couldn't find an example from this year but in 2023 the average PL player made ~$4.7M. Idk about NFL for 2023 but in 2020 average salary was just under $4M. So, PL and NFL are pretty close in what they make.

The EPL says hi right back.

The Big Six EPL teams averaged $684 million in revenue versus $586 million for the typical NFL team.
By the way, I thought they used Euros over there. I know a Pound was like $2. If Euros are like that those limeys are really overpaying for soccer.

My wife watches baking shows (she is also a rabid and aggressive UT fan) and they are boring as he!! to me, but I don't have her knowledge or appreciation for baking (except eating it). I feel that is what is happening with most people and baseball today. Today people are addicted to action, look at the movies, action used to be a genre but now it is every is comic book action movie. People have no appreciation for history or tradition anymore. Most people can't appreciate the nuances of baseball or good old movies anymore. So they have wrecked the professional baseball to appeal to this numb and dumbed down audience.

Most people won't tolerate real football anymore either. I hate what they have done to football in order to appeal to this new audience. The NFL to me is unwatchable. It is a glorified 7on7 league. To accommodate short attention spans and tv they have wrecked the pro game and are on the way to do the same for college.
The phones get smarter and the people get dumber.
I love everything about history and tradition. Genealogy has always been a hobby along with scrapbooking. Read a lot of books about history you would probably find boring. I rarely watch movies especially the action packed ones. I just don’t like baseball unless I have someone I want to watch playing it. Insulting other’s intelligence because they don’t like a sport is unwarranted.

Idjit or troll: difficult to tell the difference. Never been sure there is a functional difference. 😂

I actually had a little piece of artwork to go with an inflammatory remark. But I'm backing off. Hoping we're witnessing the turn. A lot of momentum for the LVs developing right now.

Yeah, that's why i just posted here instead of there, 😂

This numbnut on Twitter been playing down Jaylen Wright cause Heupel runs a “Mickey Mouse” offense.

Swain and Vol Twitter helped him find out.

Wasn't it the Giants coach, Brian Daboll, that told a press member that it was not a gimmick offense and that many NFL teams run a lot of the same concepts as CJH? 🤔

Somebody should send him that clip. I think NFL coaches know more than a guy who just covers fantasy football 😏

If yall could help my wife and her class in this contest for the month of April. Her bulletin board is the 2K Disney classroom with Mrs. Danielle and Mrs. Jenna. Voting ends at 10am. Really appreciate the help.

Figured I'd drop this for everyone that is interested and will be watching the big boy match up with Cats.

Yes, we're currently at 83. But, listening to the radio today, Eric Cain said Eli Herring isn't actually in the portal yet, just announced he plans to enter the portal. In that case, we'd be at 84. To take bodies, we need bodies to leave. I believe 83 is the max we want to be at because of the scholarship reductions. I'm actually surprised we haven't seen more attrition.
We can also take more this year and take the scholarship hit next year or the year after, I believe. That may be something they are considering because of the team's potential with Nico and the other players over the next couple of years.

How many scholarships did they take? I thought I remember them saying it was a total over x # of years, not a specific amount per year.

I think they took 12 in total. I think because we back counted some that we lose 2 per year for 3 years I believe. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

I'm probably in the minority but I'm good with the team as is. Would love an established LG but we have 4-5 guys at that position so somebody should be able to step up. The RB injuries are concerning but we run against so many light boxes that I think Keith or Bishop would be fine, even in a temporary role. Hopefully the RB room will be full go by fall camp.
I agree, i know the portal is here to stay, but imo at some point we gotta let the young guys that we brought in play. I think we will see that starting this year. Just took a couple years to get our OL recruiting established and get them developed.

England is Pounds or Sterling, not Euros. The numbers he gave was in dollars though. That's also only for the top 6 teams too and even with their revenue being equal to an average NFL team they don't make near the profit that NFL teams do. In 2023, the PL team with the highest yearly profit, Manchester City, made just slightly less than the NFLs least profitable team that year, Buffalo Bills.

NFL is a 53 man roster with a practice squad of up to 16. Google tells me the average NFL salary was $2.8 mil last year.
