Recruiting Football Talk VII

That opens an even bigger mess up
It’s absolutely ridiculous how ppl have no concept of NIL or transfer portal and think it effects their lives and the livelihood of college football because coaches like Kirby and Saban complain about their jobs being harder. Newsflash the revenue generated from college football alone tells me that is a false narrative…but let’s play this game for a sec

Again for the folks in the back Kirby and Saban are complaining for a reason and it’s not because their jobs got harder or it caused them to retire “early”

They want this narrative where the ncaa can have the power to bring about regulation and caps because it brings back the old system of paying recruits under the table. So while you are complaining on social media that college football has become a semi pro league think about the old system before NIL and how Tenn was buried due to reasons like coaching turnover and not being able to sign more than 25 in a class and having to play walk on’s on the OL back in the day because there was no transfer portal back then that could help our coaches who also sucked and were a problem as well but that is besides the point.

No, no more of that ish is happening we can finally field a full team of valued players and no longer is there a network of boosters helping teams in HS recruiting, now that everything is out in the open the playing field is squared if your collective isn’t a joke. But even if you are a school like missouri that doesn’t have a big budget for their collective you can still field a competitive team in some years.

No Tennessee fan in their right mind should ever want NIL to be contained. If you watched Tenn prior to Heupel getting here that is literally your wake up card to resisting whatever Bama and Georgia want and that’s exactly why they went in front of congress a month ago to peddle their BS rhetoric.

I know, which is why the transfer portal is a mess currently, but if you start binding pay with contracts it will curtail this whole notion of transferring multiple times a year.
Why do you hate Knecht so much? 😂 And why do you care how many times TB goes into the portal? 😂

Seriously, there's no crisis. There's just the biggest cheaters in sports trying to stir up the misinformed to "demand" anything and everything that will halt the growing parity in sports.

The original attempt was Saban balding lying or saying (I repeat myself) that NIL and the portal were "destroying parity." 😂 That got laughed out of school, but the new "tHiS cAn'T gO oN" line seems more seductive for some reason that perplexes me.

Of course, it can go on. It can go on.

2 weeks from now and no one will even really remember Michigan got slapped. Rigged system.
They couldn't do it right after the championship game. The ridiculous of it would have been so obvious that even people who take their views from boob-tube talking heads might have noticed. Also, the Michigan coaches weren't in the NFL yet, the celebration hadn't happened, and the signing class would be allowed to know they were going to a team on probation a month before signing.

This is the time furthest removed from consequences and attention. But, as I said earlier, it's really a coverup not a penalty, anyway.

Can we get a guard and another DB in the portal please
I am hoping for a guard, at least. I would like a serious future OT candidate (couldn't be promised that, of course) who could and would play guard for a year and also be first backup at OT. But OL is a tough place to acquire depth because good portallers aren't looking to be depth or switch positions. We'll see.

I know we are going full bore on OL in high school recruiting. And it seems we're having more success. That missing class from the debacle that brought us the great Heupel is killing us above all on the OL.

Or should I RF vocab that as "full boar"?

And now has Warren Sapp as a GA(won’t be long before he let’s the DT coach know that he has a gold jacket) who also has been fired from NFL network for some unholy things. Deion is a walking dumpster fire, all of this were to get his kid to the league because no one really wanted him coming out of HS. There is no way he wants to do this long term with the way he’s operating. The guy doesn’t even do in home visits or visits to high schools. The next coach after him will be featured on a 30 for 30 about how gutted the program were when he took over after Deion.
Y’all remember when we couldn’t get on here last year without someone celebrating something Deion had done? Remember some of us said to wait he had not really proven anything yet except he had recruited better players than he had to play? Sometimes it’s better to wait before crowning a king.

Shame on me for forgetting Condredge Holloway played baseball too. So now Blake Burke has tied or passed two of the greatest athletes ever to don the orange and while.

Soak it in folks. This is greatness.

Still laughing at the peeps saying he needed to sit after the first weekend of the year when he struggled a little bit.

I truly believe that the average sports fan is not smart enough to watch baseball anymore, they just watch the action. Baseball is so cerebral, so much is going on in the times of seeming inaction and most don't understand and appreciate that.
I’m smart enough to not care what all is going on in a boring game without much action. And there’s nothing average about my fandom for the Tennessee Volunteers especially football.

From the media coverage they got nobody expected anything but a slap. The media coverage we got made people expect the death penalty, and rival fans were furious with what we got. Not just the NCAA but the media determines what the public thinks. Can you imagine if Tennessee or a few other teams would have had that hanging over them while marching to a championship?

And sewed up not hanging over the program by the time EVERYBODY heard about it. Most expedited outcome ever.

This NCAA corrupt and crooked enforcement for pet Michigan reminds of the way the NCAA stalled and stalled in the case of their pet Kansas basketball. The NCAA deliberately enabled top recruiting classes at Kansas to accrue and tournament appearances to continue, despite the fact that Kansas had been caught in a scheme where money from its shoe company went to recruits and players.

Finally, as a result of NCAA crookedness and bias, Kansas won the tourney, which was possible only because that NCAA refused to enforce its rules. I think at some time the NCAA did go back in time, so to speak, and fakely "punish" Kansas by allowing them merely forfeit a couple of games in a season that didn't matter and that no one would ever remember.

People watch golf and it has a history of money. No one but an idiot would bet on women's basketball becoming a money maker. Soccer says hi.
The EPL says hi right back.

The EPL is the unquestioned top league in the world's most popular sport, and revenue for the elite clubs is on par with the top NFL clubs. The Big Six EPL teams averaged $684 million in revenue versus $586 million for the typical NFL team.

2 things I said I would never use regularly, but use all the time after an 80 mile back packing trip.

Crocs (the best general purpose house, camp, or water shoe ever invented, but also the ugliest)

Those long sleeve fishing shirts with the pockets and roll up sleeves.

My pocket shirt eliminates the usefulness of cargo shorts with immensely less weight. Dries fast and covers most weather situations.

Find what you love and don't sweat court of public opinion.
