33 year old wannabe cop that still lived with his parents. Loser.
That does sound like a good idea ... and no, it's not going to stop mass shootings in grocery stores, malls, churches, hotels, etc. ....Got an email from our Headmaster at St Mary’s Episcopal for Girls a couple weeks back.
In the wake of Nashville they have finally decided to increase security for our girls (like they already do for the boys at PDS… but that’s another story).
Armed personnel
Increased wrought iron perimeter fencing
Advanced networked camera system
Hey @BowlBrother85
You think they have any idea how pathetic and pitiful these measures are? They wouldn’t have done anything to stop the Las Vegas shooter!
If you told me we could stop all school shootings tomorrow, but it would simply push those shootings into grocery stores and theaters - I would respond with a thunderous Yes.That does sound like a good idea ... and no, it's not going to stop mass shootings in grocery stores, malls, churches, hotels, etc. ....
(1) Gun registry; (2) mandatory liability insurance; (3) gun training certification requirement; (4) raise purchase age to 21; (5) ban on certain guns.
It's happened before. You also assume that those tanks, fighter jets etc.. is going to all be one side.Easy. Everybody still gets to own a gun and think (naively) that they and their pot-bellied buddies are going to overthrow a dictatorship that's armed with tanks, fighter jets, nukes, and drones.
You aren't really solving the problem of people being shot to death in random public spree shootings. You are just shifting venues. You aren't even necessarily keeping children from being among the dead either. They go to movies, malls, churches, grocery stores, etc. .... Do you remember the movie theater shooting at the premier of "The Dark Night Rises" in Aurora, Colorado in 2012, by a crazy loon named James Holmes? As I recall, there were kids among the dead.If you told me we could stop all school shootings tomorrow, but it would simply push those shootings into grocery stores and theaters - I would respond with a thunderous Yes.
What would you say to that hypothetical?

No. It obviously would not stop other shootings. I clearly stated it would simply push them elsewhere.
Yes. There would be child victims at grocery stores and movie theaters.
If you could stop mass shootings in schools tomorrow, knowing it would only push them elsewhere - yay or nay?
All your registrations, background checks and whatever other looney ways you come up with to identify gun owners won't slow this at all. What will slow it might be to put habitual perpetrators of gun violence behind bars forever. but I guess that is too cruel and inhumane. (Whatever happened to your mantra of 'if it saves one life?')Too many guns. Access too easy.
Nine dead at this point. Yay guns.
Should Christians be calling for stoning? Crucifixion perhaps? You do understand how real Christians feel about this doncha Chief? No, obviously you don't.I saw it, but I'm not going to post it on this board. One of the victims had half his face blown off.
Just unbelievable you "Christians" tolerate this stuff.
And of course I know Holmes and Aurora. I referenced Aurora at the very beginning of our exchange last night. You aren't really solving the problem of people being shot to death in random public spree shootings. I could be confusing them. And of course I know Holmes and Aurora. I referenced Aurora at the very beginning of our exchange last night.
I think you are confusing Holmes with Seung-Hui Cho.
It was Holmes that was decked out in gear. I’m not sure where you are getting Cho had grenades, but Holmes had incendiary devices.
Can you link something on Cho with grenades?
You aren't going to stop them. There is nothing more dangerous than a fool with a 'cause'. You aren't going to get rid of the guns, and you certainly aren't going to get rid of the fools. No ... I'm interested in stopping these shootings from occurring.
I'm sure some of your suggestions about "hardening" schools could help. Some of them might even be practical ... but for the most part, the right-wing seems to be hoping that random spree shootings will just eventually stop on their own. That appears to be a long shot at this juncture.
Seriously, how many press conferences have been held in Texas alone in the last 6 years to discuss a mass shooting? Crazy.
