I know what I have heard, but when I was around him he didn't come off like a complete idiot. He spoke well and seemed like a intelligent person to me.

The stories and my experience didn't mesh.

He somehow managed to become a U. S. Congressman, so yeah, he wasn't stupid.

He was drafted...thrown into an NFL starting line up as the leader...with no help whatsoever. I could care less about the stories. They come from the people that worked on the team that screwed him.

Shuler was a great college QB. Given half a chance, he may have been a great NFL QB. We'll never know, because he was fu**ed from the second he was drafted.

I love Heath but I don’t think being smart is a requirement to be a congressman.

On this date in 1985….Dickey completed 22 of 32 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns. The victory secured a SECC and a berth in the Sugar Bowl.

I was there !!!! They tore down the goal post then too. I was walking outside the stadium with some friends and here comes the goal post. I ran over and helped carry it about 10 ft. The next morning we got up at the hotel and were eating breakfast with the usual hangover and someone said check this out. In the News Sentinel on the front page there I was......you would have thought I pulled it out of the ground. If you can find that picture I'm in it.....what fun !!!!
