We’ve still not seen @mrMet since this post. Rumor has it, he’s still evading authorities.
WR Expected starters (assuming Hyatt leaves early for draft)
Starters:
Bru McCoy
Ramel Keyton
Squirrel White
Backups:
Walker Merrill
Chas Nimrod
Kaleb Webb
Incoming talent:
Cameron Seldon
Nathan Leacock
Nate Spillman
Tbf, Bru Hyatt and Keyton hadn’t shown they could be relied upon either. So the optimism comes from proven developers on staff to do the same with Walker and WebbWe lose Hyatt, and we will definitely be taking a step backwards... I don't understand why everyone thinks our WR room is so deep... yes there are plenty of guys sitting in the room... but few if any are proven and have contributed significantly.
Bru and Keyton can't carry the load, so Squirrel and 1-2 portal guys will have to come in and step up... LOTS of potential talent there, but lots of unknown and unproven.
I’m not too worried about a freshman RB transfer. I would have loved to have him develop but usually dynamic RB’s play at least some their freshman year and as promising as his recruitment looked, he would have played if he was good enough. Look at Sampson.
We will find a transfer RB and hopefully one that will be an upgrade and not just depth.
If only the two Jimmy's transfer out from the WR room, we're fine. More important needs than WR.We lose Hyatt, and we will definitely be taking a step backwards... I kind of expected Whitehead to leave. Poor guy has stayed injured, so it's not surprising he's looking for a fresh start. I had high hopes for JWT. I guess that's why that one stings a little for me. I thought for sure he could be a tough yardage back. Guess I was wrong.
