I don't think it is just OSU saying no. I think they go to the Rose Bowl committee and say we have a fanbase that just went to the same location last year. They are disappointed with how the season ended. If you give us 45k tickets we might sell out or we might sell 40k. The committee then looks at this and says we'll PSU would sell out and then some.the fanbase again is hungry for a NY6 bowl and will generate a ton of revenue for Pasadena. Decision leaning towards PSU.

PSU fans are not “hungry.” They’re fed up with their coach getting embarrassed by Michigan and Ohio State and were ready to fire him a couple of weeks ago. They are bored with their product.

It’s nice to see this continues to gain more and more traction and steam with the media questioning the decision.
Saban: "This is my last year and I sure would like to be in the playoff one more time."
Committee: "Nick, do you know what would do to our reput...."
Saban: "Did you just call me Nick?"
Committee: "Yes sir, Mr. Saban."

So let me play devil's advocate a bit...

Team A: 10-2 (both losses to teams in top 15 of latest CFP)
3-2 against top 25 teams
both losses on road and both on last play of game, total combined points of losses 4 points
SOS in the top 30
Plays in P5 Conference

Team B: 10-2 (both losses to teams in top 20 of latest CFP)
5-1 against top 25 teams
both losses on road and both losses by at least 2 TDs, total combined points of losses 39 points
SOS in the top 30
Plays in P5 Conference

Team C: 10-2 (both losses to teams in top 5 of latest CFP)
0-2 against top 25 teams
1 loss on road and 1 at home, both losses by at least 2 TDs, total combined points of losses 37 points
SOS in the top 50
Plays in P5 Conference

Team D: 10-2 (both losses to teams in top 25 of latest CFP)
3-0 against top 25 teams
1 loss on road and 1 at home, combined points of losses 22
SOS in the top 60
Plays in P5 Conference

I know the bowls are not locked-in yet but let's go with the curve ball scenario folks are considering. What's wrong with this outcome?

Clemson beats OSU in the Orange.
KSU beats Bama in the Sugar.
Washington beats PSU in the Rose.
The Vols beat Tulane in the Cotton.

Which ever one of those f**ks Tennessee the worst, is the one I'm going with.

That our team’s reward for a 10-2 season with wins over Florida, LSU, and Bama is to play a team who we would normally only see in a Liberty Bowl caliber matchup.

I think you need to rethink this. How can you be undefeated against top 25 teams and have 2 losses against top 25 teams?

Because we overcame their ineptitude? With the timeout, the spot should have been corrected. With one play to get into FG range, a few yards there is big.
The ref called where the receiver landed at instead of forward progress…. They aren’t going to redo the spot unless it is reviewed.
