they have been super pissy for about a week after their team didn't sing their national anthem

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/K_--NGuSUFs

after they did that, Iran sent their enforcers, essentially, to tell the team to sing or it would be their and their families' lives at stake

so they sang the next game

then we pissed off Iran with the flag thing, so their state-sponsored journalists tried to coax our black captain into trashing America with BLM questions

Is it just me or does it feel like Swain really doesn’t like Josh Ward, or maybe just regrets leaving a setup where he was his own boss for the corporate radio world again? He takes a lot of shots at Josh, but they don’t sound light hearted like they did with Ben on his own show. Idk.
It's easy to dislike Josh Ward. . . maybe they know it and are exploiting it for more listeners, 😆

OR. . . If there was no fight or locker room rift, how could Coach Heupel possibly have predicted the absurd rumor would catch like wildfire or that a prominent sports analyst would present the rumor as fact? Players miss games all the time. They miss for injuries, academics, illness, personal reasons, etc. Most of the time, it's not anyone's business to know the details of the absence outside of the football program. Gossip is childish. For someone like Herbstreit, it's unprofessional and reckless.

A playoff team completely and inexplicably melted down. People will speculate. It is what it is. The issue wasn't Heupel not anticipating that, it was him being offended by it. Don't like it? Control the narrative.

I'm done and will make no further comment about it.

I cant stand to listen to it because of how awkward it is

Also, Swain is kinda awkward. He's not very good at talking, he needs someone that's not a brick wall to talk to.

I'll say I think the way Heupel handled the matter may not have been what information hungry fans/sports talking heads wanted but it might be exactly what the players and folks inside the program wanted.

If you're a player and you basically shoot yourself in the foot (figuratively) and have to miss a huge game...do you want your coach to just tell the world that business? Especially when you as a player are trying to get to the next level where every single character concern/issue will be used against you?

Banks might have just missed a damn test that dropped his grade to a level that would make him ineligible to participate in the game, couldn't get the makeup done until Monday or was told he could stay in Knoxville and retake the test on Saturday. None of that changes anything about Banks and his ability as a player, but sharing that information to the media and such would have meant for that entire game we would have been reminded over and over again. There is no obligation from Heupel to explain why a kid travels or doesn't travel and him being a former player I'm sure he understand that personal privacy is important to his players.

"He won't be available" is all we're gonna get and I bet the players appreciate having a coach & staff that keeps some of that ish to themselves.

Also just a heads up the Biletnikoff Award has narrowed things to their 3 finalist and a new round of Fan Voting has started today going until December 5th.

Jalin Hyatt: 67 receptions, 1267 yards, 15 TDs (2nd in yards and tied for first in TDs)
Marvin Harrison Jr.: 72 receptions, 1157 yards, 12 TDs
Xavier Hutchinson: 107 receptions, 1171 yards, 6 TDs (1st in receptions)

I have no idea how Xavier made it to the final 3...Nathaniel Dell for Houston or Charlie Jones from Purdue were more deserving IMO.

FANVOTE: Which finalist should win the Biletnikoff Award in 2022? « Biletnikoff Award

I think Hyatt is going to win. Imagine if he actually played a full game all season. Only played 60% of the snaps in 5 of our games this year.

Recruiting question:

Exactly how many transfers can we bring in this year? NCAA has ruled that transfers count against your 25-man limit class unless you're replacing players who have transferred out... in which case that is capped at 7.

I also can't find where our scholarship numbers are outside of "reduced" in order to self-punish for Pruitt.

So basically how many more can we take in the '23 class and how many of those can be transfers? Sorry for dumb, but dumb.

My understanding there is no cap anymore on classes. Just have to stay under the 85.

That's a great point. If the Vols win that game does the bank suspension even garner any attention?

Round 1 - Pick 9
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/IND/indianapolis-colts/
Will Levis QB
KENTUCKY • SR • 6'3" / 232 LBS
PROJECTED TEAM Indianapolis
PROSPECT RNK 28th
POSITION RNK 4th

Since Andrew Luck's retirement, the Colts have had little success turning to QBs nearing the end of their careers, and it's safe to assume that owner Jim Irsay will be looking for the team's next face of the franchise. Levis, who definitely looks the part, has been plagued by injuries and poor play all season. That said, NFL teams love how he projects to the next level but he'll be a controversial talking point for the next six months.

Auburn fanbase doesn't know how to properly shutdown a questionable coaching hire.
