Yeah the “me” power is shifting from the coaches who make millions to the players who are the product on the field. I’m personally all for it. Adapt or die. This is a billion dollar industry.

A lot of this could’ve been avoided if the coaches/schools would’ve lobbied the NCAA harder over the years for programs that would be in the interest of the players. But they liked having all the power. Made their jobs easier. If they would’ve partnered with players for changes and worked with them then they likely could’ve avoided this being the Wild Wild West. Could’ve had a contract in place with agreed upon parameters for this whole thing.

Players had been complaining for a long time. It wasn’t a new phenomenon. But they were shrugged off.

Now instead the coaches/schools got smacked upside the head with reality.

The end user is getting smacked upside the head, too. Schools aren't just absorbing those costs; they're passing some of them along to fans. And asking donors for more and more and more.

Not disagreeing about the lack of parity... but what happens when fans and donors start complaining?

I honestly feel like the playoff conversation should be between Georgia, Michigan, TCU, USC, and Ohio Stats, but it pisses me off to no end that they're trying to include Bama in the conversation. WE should be the team getting that hype and publicity. Bama doesn't have the resume for it. I'm not saying we should make the playoffs, I'm not a fan of the idea of a 2-loss team getting in over a 1-loss team, but if any team 2-loss team should be receiving consideration, it's Tennessee.

1. No way we should have many kids hitting the portal unless they don't think they will ever see the field... so much playing time up for grabs next year...

2. When we getting that Charlotte WR?

3. Hyatt needs to stay another year... Yes he's done incredible this season, but he still needs another year to physically mature for the NFL... this kid goes early and he is an injury waiting to happen.

He’s just as big as DeVonta Smith

This is a predicament of their own creation (the schools not the fans). A little forethought and we likely never reach this point.

If people stop paying then the same thing would happen if people stopped paying at any point in the past. The market would change. This is a business industry. Industries evolve. Or they die.

Absolutely. All year is been “it doesn’t matter how much you lose by” but now it matters? If USC and TCU get blown out in their conference championship (I hope they do) it will be wild next week. Could we back door our way in? Doubtful.. but it’ll be a fun couple of days for the board.

And you just hit the nail on the head with my hate for NIL. The money should come from the millions in revenue the schools generate. Not the fans pockets.

Weird issue to be defending
I'm annoyed any time people act like Twitter is a fair representation of anything. It's a huge part of why our culture has gotten so extreme, because companies and entities believe that a bunch of bots and extremists and sensationalists on twitter are an accurate representation of society as a whole.

But I'm probably wrong.

VQ pod said that the Vandy game was probably Jeremy Banks' last game in orange. "We'll see about the bowl game I guess, but he won't be back next year"

they've been making reference to him "not handling business" the last couple of weeks. Other posters mentioned him not going to class.

@MetalVolunteer - this what you were talking about?
We gonna make DJ U. look All-Heisman aren't we?

Edit: or Drake Maye

it's great news

if you haven't seen this interview yet I would highly suggest checking it out. you could read between the lines in the interview that he was coming back, but Bru is a solid dude

Bru is an impressive young man. Hope he has a stellar career here. Thanks for posting, I really got to know him through this. AP is pretty good interviewer as well.

Beasley has turned into a pretty decent LB
Yes he has. He did seem somewhat lost without banks tho. But so did the whole defense against USC so who knows. I think he needs some help directing on pass downs, but his reaction is great to any play and he plays very hard. He will be very good for us next year.
