And Texas, both of those could have easily been losses. They only put up 35 on Austin Peay (no offense @peaygolf ). We put up 56 on Vandy. I am well aware that I wear orange glasses... but I'd argue that our SC loss was an anomaly, and Bama has consistently shown an inability to put teams away thus the close scores. How could that possibly justify them being ranked above us?

None taken…..35 pts with the starters for 90% of the game as well;)

I give you the 2022 Vols offense:

Points per game average: 47.3 (first nationally)

Touchdowns: 75 (first nationally)

Rushing touchdowns: 39 (first nationally)

Passing touchdowns: 35 (tied fifth nationally)

Passing yards: 3,988 (third nationally)

Rushing yards: 2,469 (19th nationally)

Total yards: 6,457 (first nationally)

Just an unreal season of offense. Never thought I would see this kind of production on Rocky Top.
"Tennessee got lucky this year"...what a load of f'n 🐎💩

Nailed it

It's really shocking to me that people don't see it when a similar thing happened to our HC. Heup was given orders from Stoops to run the ball at Okie, so he did. A run first, pass second O scheme. Then he's let go for doing it when Stoops needed a scapegoat for his brother's incompetency. Heup goes to Mizzou and flips them into a scoring machine as OC who puts up 50+ against us in his second season. Satterfield just hung 63 on us in his second season.

I'm not saying Satterfield is as good as Heup. I'm saying he's a good OC, a lot better than people give him credit.

Most on her would have loved to had Rhule as HC and thought the UN hire of him was a good one. Matt Rhule had him at OC at Temple. Rhule leaves for Baylor, Satterfield gets the opportunity to be a HC at TN Tech near home, not realizing its totally messed up. Gets canned, Matt hires him at Baylor. Matt leaves for the Panthers. He takes Satterfield with him. As a HC you don't hire a guy three times in college and pro that has not proven he is a good coach because there are too many other options. out there. At that point Satterfield has tons of experience. Beamer's a bud, gets hired at USCe, hires Satterfield. Beamer's trajectory is just one year behind Heup's. We better be paying attention, hypester or not. Beamer just proved something and they were not flukes.

Unforgettable amazing season. Far exceeded mine and pretty much everyone's expectations. This might be my favorite season ever. How can you not love Hendon Hooker and this team? Oh, and scoring a ton of points is a ton of fun. I am so very glad Danny White was smarter than most of us and chose to hire his guy. I am not going to make any predictions about our future teams, but this 2022 version has been downright magical.
Totally agree!!! And love HH!

How is she doing? You tell her a woman in Middle Tennessee is praying for her along with a few hundred of your friends!
My sister? Better the last couple of days. Luckily she reached out to my niece who kept her on the phone from Knoxville to Crossville. Being a professional in mental health she got her into a good facility that day. Thanks.

McCall is gone. Don’t think they’ll be as good without him. James Madison beat them by 40 this weekend

It’s a good time for him to jump ship while the iron is hot. Matt Campbell made the mistake of hanging around too long. With the way Auburn is handling its situation, it may have to settle with Chadwell.

The clock hadn't even struck zero yet, and ESPN had already started their campaign for Bama.

And, they've also started the Bryce Young/Heisman talk. That's going to be their other big push. Not going to surprise me one bit if he wins it again. Thing is, I can stomach that waaaay more than a Bama/CFP build up.
I respect the hell out of Bryce Young...just like I always respected Danny Weurfel, and I don't think it is possible to hate anything more than I hate Alabama and Florida.

A team that ranked 108th in the FBS in scoring (21.5 ppg) and 102nd in the FBS in total offense (346.2 ypg) the year before Heupel's arrival.

This is your bias kicking in. My friends who are fans of other teams have been calling us pretenders all season. Saying things like we were lucky against bama, squeaked by bad Pitt and FL, ect. Then we get smoked by USC. It justifies what they have been saying all year. You can't lose to usc the way we did without consequences.

I hate bama and I certainly don't think they should get in the playoffs, but their resume is they lost 2 very close games on the road in very hostile environments. They have arguably the best QB in the country, and talent all over their roster. They may not have beat a lot of great teams this year, but they can only play who is on their schedule
You need new friends.

If you’re going to say that AL just lost two close games, you also have to say that they actually lost to Texas and barely won against A&M and Ole Miss. They had no big wins. All they got going for them is Saban and a QB.

We had one bad game in an amazing season full of amazing wins. Opposing fans WANT to believe we won’t be doing again.
