In order to fix a problem you have to root out the problem. Some of us are quicker to recognize what the problem is.
I rewatched the UK and SC games. I am having a hard time reconciling that these are the same defensive players. On the first drive they called a blitz and Mitchell was supposed to go..so help me he was 7 yards beyond the LOS and when it was snapped he just kind of loped towards Rattler, who easily threw the ball to reciever in the vacated spot before Mitchell even got to the LOS...there is no way he was supposed to be that far beyond the line, and he sure as hell was supposed to be jogging towards Rattler...
As I've been rewatching plays...I think that one and one other just kind of encapsulates everything that happened....bad design, bad teaching and horrid lazy execution.
One other was on a 3rd down play in the first half where stupid Hadden started 11 yards deep and then bailed out and started running deep as soon as the ball was snapped....of course the WR stopped just beyond the first down marker and caught a ridiculously easy pass...and then ran forward for a lot more yards before anybody could even lay a finger on him..
What does SC defense have to do with our defense. We're not comparing our defense to theirs. We're comparing every other teams defense that was able to hold them in check to ours.
it was mostly competitive all season until that game - that's my only point. I just don't think we have the talent and depth to sustain competitiveness throughout the season - Saturday proved that. Coaching played a role, certainly. But talent/depth was the bigger issue in my opinion.
The Basketball Forum use to have a thread like this called “Regular Posters”. Now the BF has 30 different threads similar to FF. I love that here you can go to one thread to find everything and there are not new threads started every time someone has a question or an idea.I get it but this thread is truly the everything, except politics, thread. I am sure you know but the best place for recruiting news about a player is his thread.
In making this an issue of Milton vs. Hooker, you're creating an argument that doesn't exist, though. No one’s claiming MILTON is “flawless” either, but QBs typically play themselves into a game. So shutting down the voting booths after the equivalent of two possessions seems presumptuous. Not speaking for the other poster, I brought up Hooker because he’s had an undisputed excellent season. I recall some airmailed passes early against Ball State. His final tally was 18/25. What if we parsed those 7 incompletions? Milton was 8/9 in that game incidentally.

Yup and the first overthrow he has against Vandy people are gonna go nuts. “Overthrow Joe”, “can’t hit the broadside of a barn”. I get that Hooker gets or got a pass for how well he has played but Hooker has had plenty of overthrows and all you hear is crickets.
MIlton literally had one overthrow against SC and people already lost confidence in him for next year lol. It is ridiculous like you said.
