Last time we had a shot at a record this good, in 2001, Fulmer ended us up in the Citrus. I think we'd have to concede this is better on paper (but it was much more fun beating Michigan than a Little 5. It's a NY6 in Y2. I don't think Birmingham will give us Sugar or Orange.

Id rather get a warm Florida bowl against a slaw B10 team.

In August I didn't think that we would be in the top 10 with one game left to play. 2 weeks ago I didn't think we'd barely be in the top 10 with one game left to play. Man, life comes at you fast.

Bama has done nothing to deserve their ranking, lol, yet you continue to defend it. It's not about where we're ranked. Yes, we **** the bed. But Bama's resume doesn't add up to a top 10 team.

In August I didn't think that we would be in the top 10 with one game left to play.

Yeah and if someone told you in August we’d be in the top 10, and would spend the final week talking about red flags for Heupel and firing half the coaching staff, you would have thought they were pulling your leg. Lol

Not impossible if we absolutely beat the hell out of them. And that's the only thing in our control. Right now we lost twice in three weeks. Just like we beat LSU and Bama back to back.

All that matters now is getting two wins and going into the offseason 11-2. You can sell that, because most recruits/transfers will live a 12-team playoff ecosystem, and 11-2 in the SEC is more than good enough to qualify.

And if Joe looks good in the process, you can combat the whole “it was all Hendon” negative recruiting angle.

Exaggerate much? The only names really thrown around have been Tim Banks and Willie Martinez, based on how bad our defense has been, and how they got utterly embarrassed this past weekend. That's not even close to "half" the staff.

They shouldn't be ahead of us. We beat them. We also beat the other team that beat them. They remained high in the rankings because they are Bama. That we got embarrassed by SCar has nothing to do with we beat them on the football field. They should still be below us.

That was about as catastrophic a performance as you can possibly have.

It was definitely a catastrophe.

Its what was at stake.
Its losing by 25 as a 22 point favorite.
Its being routed by a team that didn’t have any offensive scoring vs Florida the week before.
It was making Rattler look like a Heisman winner whereas he has struggled all season.
It was no pass rush.
It was huge secondary cushions, phantom tackling, and being outrun and out jumped.
It was lack of energy or sense of urgency on sidelines.
It was and still is no REAL answer for Jeremy Banks absence and how that affected team cohesion and morale.
And the cherry on top, losing our Heisman candidate and guy who turned us around to a non contact injury.
Now the real fear that we might lose to Vandy and go from playoff contender to 9-3 and depressed fan base again.

To be fair, that team ends up in an NY6 in current format. Still, win Saturday and this is undoubtedly our best season since then.
