While I do agree with you, think about that defensive performance. Are we to believe that SC is better offensively than Bama, UGA or LSU? I mean seriously. Has our defense even been remotely as bad as it was against SC? No. Not even close. So what does that say? Well if there had been similar performances like that since Heupel has been here, then we could say well that’s our defense. But this is a one off, once in a generation type of game.

Our defense is not nearly as bad as it looked against SC. I don’t know if it’s the Banks situation or something else but the team looked TOTALLY different than at any point since Heupel has been here.

I agree that it was likely an anomaly (we’ll see how they respond this weekend). But it was a catastrophic one. And frankly, it felt like a culmination of a bunch of individual issues that just hadn’t occurred all in the same game until Saturday.

Maybe “fire Banks” won’t be the right answer, but I do think the questions are fair.

Oh no doubt fire Banks and fire Martinez are for sure fair. And I wouldn’t have an issue with them being gone. But I just don’t know if firing them for a one game disaster is the right thing. After thinking about it, I have changed my tune a little. I mean we have a really good recruiting class coming in, especially on the defensive side. What if we fired Banks or Martinez or both, and we lose many of those commits? Not saying that would happen, but it could and that would be disastrous.

But you are right it was a catastrophic performance. Ugh what a terrible spot to be in.

I've never said we were not devoid of talent. The coaches have to play with the cards they are dealt. You have to ask, do you think the coaches are getting everything out of that talent? Some coaches get more from the talent. The team is greater than the sum of their parts. I think you can look at Heupel and his offense as being that way. He squeezes just about everything possible out of those players. I think on the defensive side it's the opposite. I don't think they put their players in a position to succeed. We need to find a Josh Heupel of defense. Someone that can do more with less. They're out there.
He is not creative, or at least he hasn't been to this point...at all.

Imagine using star ratings from an online site that is completely made up by recruiting “experts” based on only their opinions and trying to state facts about talent level based on such assumptions.

Strange hill to die on. When we sign the 15th ranked class, I expect you to not care what players are ranked. May as well just sign the 50th ranked class. That’s just absurd.

Deflect, deflect, deflect. The star rankings are facts. They all rotate or you haven’t watched. Thomas, Baron, and Young play a lot. Bumphus gets hurt. I literally listed 8 guys who were 4 stars.

You don’t know a fact from an opinion.

Oh you’re one of those deep state VN member talking about these things called facts

Okay. Silver lining time. If Tennessee goes to the Cotton Bowl, I will be able to see them play live!

I know that is selfish, but I have not gotten to go to a game since auburn whooped kiffin.

Don’t get me wrong, I really wanted to see Tennessee in that playoffs, but that shipped sailed Saturday sadly it then sank.
