Two 9 inning games separated by 25 minute break. They just kept counting the innings in sequence. It's pre-season games to look at your roster. By the way, UT looked loaded again. Deep pitching staff and lots of power hitters.
I saw a quote from Vitello a couple weeks ago. He said this year's teams has more talent than last years

Hope so but VQ had some expert-y guy on from ON3 and he said they would. Then Brent and someone else basically agreed with him, but it felt forced. The "expert" originally said "LSU as a 1-loss team from week 1 and SEC champion is what UT fans should worry about". Brent literally had to remind him they were a 2 loss team...to us 😅🤣 and he left out the absolute a** whooping it was. Smh. But then Brent said yeah...8 straight wins...can't leave them out 🤔😒

I don't buy it but god who knows.
Yes, heard that and figured Hubbs was letting him off the hook. Of course, I think he meant Ole Miss, and if Ole Miss runs the table and wins the SECC they should be in there with a one loss UGA.

How would you fix it? Easy, when a player who fumbles, goes out of bounds and touches the ball, you ignore it. Just like that wr rule; if the player is forced out of bounds you ignore the fact he went out of bounds.

And I would add, it's still a penalty, but defense can decline the penalty.
You don't ignore it if the WR is still out of bounds. If the WR is still out of bounds and touches the pass, the play is dead. It's not a penalty. Those are two separate issues, someone who is currently out of bounds vs someone who was out of bounds and came back in.

Any currently out of bounds player who touches a live unpossessed ball kills the play, whether it's a pass or a ball on the ground.

Asking an official to process all this before deciding to kill the play:
Is the player who is out of bounds touching the ball?
Is the ball unpossessed?
Is he the same person who fumbled it?
Did he go out of bounds voluntarily?

That's just not possible lol. And it would be a crazy specific set of rules for an incredibly rare scenario like we saw Saturday. I doubt any of us have ever seen that happen in our lives, but we're going to implement an insane exception to a rule for that once in a decade scenario? It sucks Bama benefited from a technicality, but 99.99999%+ of the time the simple rule of "play is dead if an OOB player touches an unpossessed ball" works perfectly as intended.

Agreed. Doubt they survive Bama and UGA, but if they do, they deserve it over us.

Rain and wind would've added to the noise. But honestly, it doesn't matter. Sanford tends to be a mausoleum compared to other stadiums. However, Ainge ran his mouth a ton while Kirby was passing out fliers and the committee ranks us in the top spot - perfect storm for any fanbase to get loud. UGA fans have always been loud and obnoxious (even when they had no reason to be) but this year they got loud enough for it be heard despite Sanford being a pretty mediocre venue most days.
90% of the UGA fans never heard anything Ainge said. They were going to be loud no matter what.

There is technically a path for Bama just like there is technically a path for us..it’s just not very likely. LSU would have to lose 2 of their last 3 games for Bama to win the West, if Bama won out of course. Same with UGA. They would have to lose 2 of final 3 and us win out.

Edit: what’s the 3 team tiebreaker in SEC division? What would happen if LSU lost 1 game, Bama won out, and Ole Miss beat everyone but Bama? That would be 3 teams in the West all with 2 SEC losses.

Since none of you jokers answered my question I went and looked. The tiebreaker would be combined head to head record among tied teams. So if LSU loses a game, Bama beats Ole Miss and Ole Miss wins the rest then LSU would still go to SECCG. Now, if Ole Miss won out and LSU dropped a game then Ole Miss would go to SECCG. I don’t see Ole Miss winning out though and I don’t see either Ole Miss or LSU beating UGA anyways.

I keep my anus covered up thank you

Hey guys. I put together my own pseudo-rankings-calculator today. With the way I did the rankings, Tennessee shows #4 over #5 TCU when looking at the following metrics:
  • 1.5x your winning percentage
  • 0.33x your offensive point average (#1 gets 0.33, 0 points gets 0 points)
  • 0.33x your defensive point average (#1 gets 0.33, 0 points gets 0 points)
  • SOS+ (Strength of schedule minus wins/losses you caused)
Here's my top 35, and the current AP poll ranking next to them. What other valuable metrics should I take into account to (as accurately as possible) estimate where everyone should be ranked? I know Opponent's Strength of Schedule (OSOS) will help with a some of that. A Sun Belt team only plays Sun Belt Teams. Looks like my metric disagrees pretty heavily on Texas, Notre Dame, Coastal Carolina, LSU.

P.S. I'm no @ChattaTNVol, but wanted to have my own data set to mess with.
Welp, incorporating Opponent's Strength of Schedule has raised TCU above Tennessee...I weighted it as half as important as Strength of Schedule.

P.S. again: I forgot the Rank decimal number so added it to the latest screenshot. I can't go back and re-do the other, so I'll leave it.

Do you know if he has batt attitude problems?
I don't, but what I was saying is being uber talented isn't the only thing our coaches look at. You and I look at this kid and his talent and drool, but the coaches look at a lot more. In fact, I think they put more emphasis on the "more". I'm not saying we won't pursue the kid, just that it's not a given that we pursue the kid.

Well you're just going have to do another one. I'm a betting no one on the board likes this one 😤

Fortunately it's at home and the last chance for the fans to watch us play in Neyland. It should be rocking for a noon game. Vols cover.

Playing a night game at Missouri in November would be a different story.
I am 2 1/2 hours from Columbia. High here Saturday gonna be 34 with low down around 15.
