It's always been the Hendo knock...he takes care of the ball (doesn't throw INTs) but the way he does that is by taking sacks. Against lesser defenses it works out well, since they can't get pressure without sending extra and when they send extra there is man to man and no team has the talent to play man on our WRs all day. As pointed out already Georgia didn't even do it, they kept safeties back to help deep and were getting pressure without needing to blitz.
Then when the threat of running the ball was basically removed they'd blitz a fast secondary player who didn't have to worry about our RBs in the passing game. It's going to be a HUGE game that Alex/Heupel grow from I think though. Last year Georgia didn't do anything creative or really scheme us up.
So having that on film for an offensive genius will be big in his growth. He's still pretty new, this is only his 5th season as a HC after all and only the 2nd in the P5. That's what teams should really be worried about, "can it work" has been proven, "can he recruit" has been proven, and every game when we struggle is a learning experience that he'll take forward to get better and better.
Nico in his 3rd season here when the team roster talent will likely rank in the top 10...come on, you have to be even more excited for the future!
This is where I am. I have held strongly to my preseason expectation of an 8-4 regular season. We've achieved it, and I'm quite happy. We have a chance to significantly exceed that expectation, and maybe even back door our way into the college football playoff. That's unreal. I'm stoked.
Yesterday's performance stunk, but I don't think anyone was beating UGA on Saturday in that environment. They just whipped us fair and square. It's exceedingly rare to go undefeated, and yesterday's environment is the reason why.

And let's not forget what we did against Mizzou last year....I know they've improved but, I don't see them stopping us anytime soon.Looking back on last season - we didn't have any hangover games. We put up 45 on UK post Bama, crushed Mizzu post UF and took care of business vs S Alabama post UGA.
For how long and exhausting the OM game was, we still put up a fight vs Bama.
We should come out Saturday looking refreshed and ready to regroup for the rest of the season.
UGA also brought that slot blitz when they needed a play and either the staff never adjusted or the players didn’t execute the adjustments.
Kirby confused our protection all day.
We had plays over the middle. In every instance, the defender closed the gap instantly and made a sure tackle. We normally rely on 5 to 7 yard completions to turn into at least 10 to 15 yard gains. Saturday there were basically zero yards after the catch. Phenomenal defensive speed and tackling. that was a well coached DAgain!…why no screens?…why nothing over the middle…no slants?..they were giving the middle up at a minimum of 10 years just to prevent the big play why didn’t we see that and attack it?…just looking at the plays that were being called Saturday it looked like they just brought in what they had been using all year because it’s worked and nobody could stop it until Georgia…No mixups or plays were used that nobody had never seen before…Kirby knew when to blitz because we set ourselves up for obvious passing downs way behind the sticks I think this game should easily go on the coaches…the defense did pretty well under the circumstances..it could have been worse..I felt like we lost by 40 after it was over

Yep Georgia was closing and tackling like mad men.We had plays over the middle. In every instance, the defender closed the gap instantly and made a sure tackle. And the offense was unable to communicate or adjust accordingly. Best thing is, if we play them again, we got lots of film to study and be better preparedUGA also brought that slot blitz when they needed a play and either the staff never adjusted or the players didn’t execute the adjustments.

Tennessee was definitely getting whooped at the Line. But there were a good 10 plays where Hendon held the ball too long as well as overthrew multiple open receivers. He also threw a interception because he forced the ball down to Tillman… just not a good game whatsoever
Agreed. Just like in basketball I'd rather make the tournament and lose in the round of 64 than win the NITUGA is the only one who I think would beat us. And it would be much closer on a neutral site. We could beat any of the other teams. Ohio State would be the most likely opponent in my opinion, and they're beatable. We may not win, but we shouldn't get our heads beat in. Much better to make the playoffs and lose vs win the sugar bowl.
to quote the great philosopher Chris FarleyTold my dad, who is a UGA fan, that if Georgia can get to Hooker and rattle him, they will win. If they did what Pitt did on defense, UGA wins. And that's exactly what happened.
The defensive line slide confuses the hell outta the protection. I was hoping after Pitt they would have adjusted because they had seen it before. Apparently not. They have to fix it now because it's the only way to really stop the offense.
