They could afford to play 2-deep, with man on the outside, and still have 6 in the box. It's a killer for this offense, particularly when we can't communicate at the line (or even in the huddle for that matter) to make the correct reads. We spread the defense out to get numbers in the box. We didn't have numbers. We take advantage of 1v1 on the outside when the opponent has numbers in the box. We couldn't take advantage. We go long when we have our guys alone on the outside. We missed.
No other defense that we will play can do that. Except maybe Ohio State if we meet them in the playoff. Even then, they just don't have the mutants that UGA does on defense.
We certainly won't have to play in the Decibel Orgy again for the rest of the season. South Carolina thinks they're a wild time, but we'll still be able to play our game there. In the bowl game(s), it will be a 50/50 environment.
He was. If you take the number of times Hooker had a reasonable opportunity to make a play and compare it to Stetson's, Stetson made the play a higher % of the time. How else would you compare performances of 2 QB with a large talent gap of players around them? I don't think you're unbiased enough to have a complex, nuanced conversation that might involve saying something negative about someone you're a fan of lol. You're getting way too riled up over some really, really minor criticisms of Hooker. With all your superlatives and caps lock and even changing font colors, clearly this is a hot button issue for you, so I'm going to drop it.
Hooker had a worse game than Stetson Bennett, but when you're playing with the #1 ranked roster talent its kind of expected. Bama QBs did it for years, Nebraska QBs did it for years under Osborne.
Stetson did exactly what he should have and had a good game because of it against one of the worst passing defenses in the country.
Georgia's Passing Defense is elite
16th in completion % given up
15th in passing yards allowed
1st in passing TDs given up
Tennessee's Passing Defense is awful
93rd in completion % given up
127th in passing yards allowed
42nd in passing TDs given up
