I didn't watch most of the game (wedding) except for the 1st Q but from everything I read we got whipped in the trenches especially the oline. I still think we can backdoor our way into the playoffs but we need to take care of business the next 3 weeks which starts with Mizzou. And obviously we need help.

I am curious to know why Hendon didn't get rid of the ball. Were our WRs not getting open or was he not seeing them?

Who posted a quick synopsis of this game?
Tennessee was definitely getting whooped at the Line. But there were a good 10 plays where Hendon held the ball too long as well as overthrew multiple open receivers. He also threw a interception because he forced the ball down to Tillman… just not a good game whatsoever

We're at 4713 total yards on the season at 9 games.
Last year we finished at 6179 total yards after 13 games.

Almost 50 yards more per game.
45.3 ppg up by 6 over last year's 39.3
21.7 points allowed down 8 from last year's 29.1

Still amazed this is where we are in year 2...I am so thrilled Josh Heupel came to Knoxville.

Sam McCall former 5 star recruit at FSU enters the portal. Edit: seems like he deleted the Instagram post

Hooker will have to get it together and show some veteran presence and composure. Georgia and their crowd shook him up so bad mentally it was awful to watch. Like he’s never played a road game before. Hold the ball for 10 seconds, overthrow receivers multiple times. Draw in on Tillman which has been a issue in the past when he’s in there playing. I mean it was just a bad game. There were plays there to be had. Just didn’t hit them.

Luckily his collegiate football career is a story of Hendon rising from the ashes.

He was told he wasn't good enough for VT.

He got portaled/recruited over here, still fought for his starting role, and hung in there to earn it.

Got schooled in his first SEC road game @ Florida last year.

Came back out and smoked Missouri and South Carolina the following weeks.

Put his body on the line against Ole Miss, almost carried the team to the W. Had to leave the game with an injury.

Could have easily sat out the next week but chose to play on the road AT Bama. Literally got his teeth knocked out early in the game but still helped the team put up a fight well into the 2nd half.

Came back and persevered at Kentucky in a shootout that required his athleticism.

The very next week he got smoked multiple times by the elite Georgia defense but didn't back down.

He is tough. He has proven his leadership. All of this is built on the foundation of his faith. His team looks to him to be a leader and a warrior. He has answered the call time and time again.

So while this latest loss is the first challenge of this season, it's not the first time he's had to pick himself up in his collegiate career.

I think that this will galvanize the team and they'll get back into a role that is comfortable to them - being the dangerous team with something to prove and plenty of ways to prove it.

UGA crowd disrupted our play calling, communication in the huddle and at the line, disrupted our timing at all phases. Then our offense had to play their very talented, very athletic, defense that had a chip on their shoulder.

Hooker was out of his element anyway, I think that we can all agree on that. Throwing the ball away is an easy solution in multiple jams that he was in, no matter the situation. He chose to try to out-athlete UGA LBs and DEs. Really weird.

However, according to Hyatt, the WRs had no idea what they were doing for most of the game. I think they were out of position or completely covered up.

Hendon was playing with a hornets nest on his head.

Any injury reports post-game? That was a very physical game, bad weather, etc. Did we escape unscathed? That could determine my stress level going into the next 3 games.

Smalls shoulder I think is the biggest concern. Maybe Hyatts ankle but he came back and played a lot so one would assume he's fine.

It's always been the Hendo knock...he takes care of the ball (doesn't throw INTs) but the way he does that is by taking sacks. Against lesser defenses it works out well, since they can't get pressure without sending extra and when they send extra there is man to man and no team has the talent to play man on our WRs all day. As pointed out already Georgia didn't even do it, they kept safeties back to help deep and were getting pressure without needing to blitz.

Then when the threat of running the ball was basically removed they'd blitz a fast secondary player who didn't have to worry about our RBs in the passing game. It's going to be a HUGE game that Alex/Heupel grow from I think though. Last year Georgia didn't do anything creative or really scheme us up.

So having that on film for an offensive genius will be big in his growth. He's still pretty new, this is only his 5th season as a HC after all and only the 2nd in the P5. That's what teams should really be worried about, "can it work" has been proven, "can he recruit" has been proven, and every game when we struggle is a learning experience that he'll take forward to get better and better.

Nico in his 3rd season here when the team roster talent will likely rank in the top 10...come on, you have to be even more excited for the future!
