It feels good to be this kind of miserable. Being miserable after getting beat by Georgia. . . State is terrible. Being ranked in the top3 and losing to the #1 (AP) team is a good kind of miserable, considering all the different types of miserable we've been over the past 15yrs.

It really doesn't. I am ecstatic with the season we've had, but that doesn't erase the hurt of yesterday, and nothing about it feels good. I'll feel good when we obliterate Mizzou, then SCar, then Vandy. But I hate that those barking idiots have a reason to rejoice at our expense. I want to be the team that humbles their asses and remind them they're not that great. I guess I'm just petty like that.

We hold them to 27pts again and we'll win, imo. Can't believe they were able to hold us to 13pts. . .

Which reminds me. . . Vegas knows everything! . . remember before the game DK offered a great +14.5pt boost? Also, they offered another boost for both teams to score over 25. They knew.
It's because college football is scripted. 😁

Wow. The Vols aren’t dead yet.

Rankings on Tuesday will be:

1 Georgia
2 Michigan
3 OSU
4 TCU
5 Tennessee
2 & 3 play each other and TCU has road trips to Austin and Waco upcoming.

If I had to guess... Mich/osu winner, Georgia are pretty much locks. Oregon (if they win out), TCU (if they win out) would get in.

Tennessee is next, loser of much/osu next.

So... Yeah we're in pretty good shape for not controlling our destiny any more.😉🍊

I think to be safe, it'd probably be better if Ohio state wins the big 10.... I'm not convinced 1 loss Tennessee gets in over 1 loss OSU, if that's how it plays out.

I saw those boosts and another boost on another site for Tennessee 1H over 13.5.

When they're too eager to give one side away, you know wha they're thinking.

I cashed in my 1st Quarter bet as soon as I saw those. Usually you have to pay big juice to cash out early but the line had moved in my favor so I got out clean.

Sometimes the best bets are the ones you don't make.

NCAA rules committee needs to take a look at fumbles. It has two of the dumbest rules about them. The rule that essentially allows an offensive player to recover a ball if any part of him is out of bounds, is beyond dumb. The ball is still in the field of play. Also, it a ball is fumbled out of the endzone or goes out of bounds after it crosses the line, it should be returned to the spot it was fumbled and the team that had possession would get it back. JMHO

It's different. Normally, I'd still be salty and I am a little bit. But because the playoffs exist and we could still be in it, I'm not sweating this loss the same way. It hurts but not like it would've in the 90s when it meant your season was over. Everyone else has gotten a mulligan so there's nothing to feel bad about. Hell, UGA's championship last year was a mulligan.

So a guy fumbling a ball is not rewarded for being OB and touching the ball in the field of play and getting to keep possession? 😂

The punter stopped being a punter when the ball went over his head. He became a player trying to recover a loose ball.

The rules need fixed since they apparently never thought those two things could happen.
Why do you think he stopped being a punter? Punters kick botched snaps all the time.

You can't tackle someone in the act of kicking inside the tackle box. That's a good rule, it's for safety. One instance of it not working out how we expected it to doesn't mean we should scrap it.

Totally agree on the last one. Dumbest rule in all of sports.

You can't just rework how out of bounds works on your other point though. It's a one in a million exception that it helps someone keep possession after a fumble. If someone is oit of bounds and they touch the ball, play is over.

2 hands touching dies not equal possession. In full speed you can see he didn't possess it yet.

Agree on the tip, 100%
In full speed, I see the Bama WR slap the ball that is fixed and not moving in the LSU defender's hands. It is only after that slap (thus after he was down) that the LSU defender bobbles it (loses control), trying to get the ball back after it was dead. He didn't bobble it before it was slapped.

But if you still disagree, we just disagree. But I offer you this bonus track as a peace offering. All three faces are great:

I don't think we have much of a run game without the QB right now. I thought we had gotten better at run blocking but we're not quite as improved as I'd hoped. Thankfully, we could play 100 teams and maybe find 1 that could shut down the passing game the way that UGA did but UGA might honestly be the only one that has the speed and talent to do that. If we face UGA again they will do the same thing *unless* we run the QB more and find a way to get the TE and RB in on passing plays more. I feel like if our TEs or RBs improved even just a little bit more at pass catching then we can give that defense problems. We simply didn't think they could shut our WRs down completely. But UGA's corners are their strength.

Mizzou and SC have good parts of their defenses but I'm more worried about Mizzou than South Carolina. I don't think either can shut the offense down, especially now that they'll have something to prove after getting brought down a peg.

We have a backfield of “change of pace” guys. I like Small & Wright but neither are likely NFL talents. I like Sampson & JWT, both still young though.

And I agree our RBs & TEs seem to be less talented than the rest of the offense. I think we’ll see a focused team for Senior Day in our last home game Saturday though. Expect to see the pedal firmly pushed to the floor.

This was an underreported storyline. We stifled the defending champs at their place. I still think Georgia is very beatable on a neutral site by a team that has a defense with a pulse (LSU?).

I didn’t realize out D stats were that good under the circumstances but it’s definitely something to build on in case we get our rematch..Looking forward to watching the rest of the season play out and hopefully get that rematch..The Vols will make this right if given a second chance, IMO.👊

Have I told you about how good Georgia is recently?
I am really trying to not get pissed, that stuff I said was over the line....but the UGA worship is disgusting me.

You can acknowledge their good gameplan without acting like they are the 86 Bears.

The TRUTH is that as good as they played...there were a LOT of huge plays that should have been made.

Apparently JWT isn’t even a running back anymore
