I hate saying it but the OL let us down yesterday. UGA did what Pitt did but they had better players and Hooker did what he did vs Pitt and against UK and fixated on Tillman too much. I'm sure there's someone on here that knows what it is in terms of scheme or shifts or what have you but something happened in the trenches that was different/confusing for our guys. Yes, some crowd but more than that.

It wasn't all on the OL. Some of Hooker's sacks were entirely on Hooker. He never threw the ball away. Not once that I can remember.


But let's be honest. The entire team, including the coaches, seemed discombobulated yesterday. It was a bad day. For whatever reason, we just weren't ready, on any level. That was not the team we've seen show up all year.

But yesterday is the past. The team, and we fans, need to move on. Time to show up and beat the piss out of Mizzou.

If we lost to Bama and beat UGA, we'd still have to win 3 PLUS the SECCG. About a 40% chance.

Instead we are left with an 86% chance of winning out and overall 64% chance of making the playoffs.

Give me the playoffs all day. Jmo. I've always been for "Beat Bama and lose to UGA" if we had had to go 1-1 between them. It simply gives us a better statistical chance to WIN IT ALL. Which is the whole point.

There is something to being able to control your own destiny though. Also hard to accurately gauge until knowing how the season plays out but would completely change seeding as well which could have a substantial impact

Only game we can win this week is Missouri. Open as a 20 point favorite. Need to get back to filling up Neyland and being loud. Correct mistakes and get the bad taste out of our mouth.

Nobody wants to play us except maybe Ga. I have watched most every team that is in the running and I really think we could beat all of them handily. I just hope we get the chance to find out when it counts the most.

I think we match up well against UGA on a neutral field. I just think atmosphere and bad breaks affected the outcome that much.

How about this guy? He has Bama 6 and LSU 15!! LSU won HTH and they both have two losses and he has them 9 spaces below Bama. He does have us 4th, so he ain't all bad, but, my goodness.

I think we have a 25% to win on a neutral field. We need to get better pressure on them and not be porous in the secondary. I just don't know if we have the defensive personnel yet. That said, give Heupel a rematch and the opportunity to scheme them a second time and who knows what can happen. We had chances to keep it close in Athens.

I think we somehow shut their O down in the second half. And our offense fuels the defense. I don;t think we can judge the defense on an island while the atmosphere and breaks kind of crippled the O.

I'm not making excuses. Hat tip to UGA for their strong line and excellent secondary.

I would have picked Pittsburgh as my loss, if that is an option.

My middle daughter asked me how I was doing after the loss yesterday. I said basically that it stinks to lose but we are still in a great spot and it has still been a great season with green grass in front of us. She said, "Wow! You are taking this better than I expected." In years past I would have been in a sour mood and let it affect my weekend. Yes it stinks to lose, but in the grand scheme of my life is it more important to show grace in defeat or teach that rough times should launch us into pity parties and shame spirals. People are always watching you to see how you react to adversity or even perceived adversity. I am grateful that I was able to demonstrate a positive reaction to a disappointment yesterday.

It feels good to be this kind of miserable. Being miserable after getting beat by Georgia. . . State is terrible. Being ranked in the top3 and losing to the #1 (AP) team is a good kind of miserable, considering all the different types of miserable we've been over the past 15yrs.

I honestly don’t think this 23’ class is near finished yet. IMO there will be a few 4 star recruits we end up getting we had no idea of landing. Alot to sell before the December signing day.

That would be nice, but I'm not sure where names we haven't heard of (you said no idea of landing) would come from. I think we still have a good chance with Hobbs, and he's probably the biggest recruit we have left on the board that we have a legitimate chance with. I would be surprised if M'Pemba doesn't commit to Georgia. Couple of other kids we seem to be looking at. Hopefully the portal is as good as everyone seems to think it will be, and hopefully we can get some of those difference makers to come here.

@jave36 I still say this LSU player has possession of the ball with two hands and the ground as a third point and his left knee was down. The play is over before the AL guy slaps it out of his hand: he didn't "touch" it. He slapped it out of a guys hand after he was down. None of us want to admit it, but their O played less aggressive as the game progressed.

We hold them to 27pts again and we'll win, imo. Can't believe they were able to hold us to 13pts. . .

Which reminds me. . . Vegas knows everything! . . remember before the game DK offered a great +14.5pt boost? Also, they offered another boost for both teams to score over 25. They knew.

He’s pretty right though. Bad day for Hooker. Our O needs to hit on some of those deep shots to run right. Didn’t get it done. Hooker overthrew 3-4 of those that he hasn’t missed all season and threw another to UGA.

UGA is the best team we’ll play all season. If we get a rematch, maybe Hooker plays like he has against everyone else. Would like to see how the game turns out then.

Rushed 4 and played man with a spy/help deep. Hooker was mostly running out of time.

We really needed more draws, QB scrambles & quick passes (middle screens, slants) to take advantage. And even then it still would require patience and nickel & diming them until they make a mistake.

I don't think we have much of a run game without the QB right now. I thought we had gotten better at run blocking but we're not quite as improved as I'd hoped. Thankfully, we could play 100 teams and maybe find 1 that could shut down the passing game the way that UGA did but UGA might honestly be the only one that has the speed and talent to do that. If we face UGA again they will do the same thing *unless* we run the QB more and find a way to get the TE and RB in on passing plays more. I feel like if our TEs or RBs improved even just a little bit more at pass catching then we can give that defense problems. We simply didn't think they could shut our WRs down completely. But UGA's corners are their strength.

Mizzou and SC have good parts of their defenses but I'm more worried about Mizzou than South Carolina. I don't think either can shut the offense down, especially now that they'll have something to prove after getting brought down a peg.
