I’ll say this, one thing about Texas is they are used to running their league, and when they get to the SEC, they won’t appreciate being shaken down by the Bama Mafia every time Boss Nick gets butthurt about something.

Now, will that be any better for us? No idea. But it will piss off the Bammers.

Texas and Okla will be interesting. They won't like being smaller fish in Saban's pond.

UT just needs to keep improving our power position in the conference. Win the SEC in every marquee sport, then make power moves when we need to. We're right there in FB, MBB, WBB and baseball. Need to fix softball.

Anybody thinking about storming the field better do it. Saban's complaints did not go unheard. Sankey has already expressed his displeasure to ADs and is moving to force schools to revise policy to prevent incidents involving on-field access. Bama's AD is on the working committee; DW is not.

Sankey's solution mirrors Saban's-- don't hold angry players accountable for hitting fans; force schools to overhaul their security protocols and game management plans to prevent happy students from getting in the players' way. UT is, unsurprisingly, the poster program for this. I'm sure fan-instigated trash throwing will be written into the new protocols, as well.

It's hard not to despise Saban and Alabama.

Saban is such a Richard noggin

Ridiculous, so Sankey and the SEC want to send the message that it's okay for players to ASSAULT fans just because they're angry over losing?

This is something I’ve tried explaining to folks out here. Bama runs the conference right now, and they won’t have any leverage coming in.

It just makes it that much more obvious that Sankey has been in bed with Alabama for the last decade.

Saban not only defends violence against innocent fans -- particularly women -- he is the role model for Burton.

Remember this incident? Saban's bodyguard needlessly absolutely deck a harmless young woman (at about :40). Immediately after they run up on a large male student and simply go around him.

Sankey and Saban. It is up to the other 13 schools to just say "no".

Then vote to have Sankey removed as SEC Commissioner.

Guess who else has reps joining Bama on the field-access security committee-- UGA, UF and UK. UK AD Barnhart is in an interesting position since UK fans have been notorious field stormers, too.

I had forgotten about that!

Not much UT could do. The fans Burton hit wanted it to go away. They put their names out there and got a lot of hate mail. I can see why a 100-lb female running on the field looking for her sorority sisters would be scared by that. A fully-padded guy more than twice her size-- notsomuch.
I guess I can see why she would be scared to pursue this. We are talking about the fanbase that produced Harvey Updyke, the Auburn tree poisoner.

Has anyone thought of this scenario? Tennessee runs the table and loses to Bama in the SEC championship game only to meet them for a 3rd time in the national championship game. Would be epic to win a 3 game series against the Tide with the national title as the prize.
It would be more epic just to beat them in the SECCG and knock them out of playoff contention.
