Weird. Feel like this should’ve been submitted sooner if it were this cut and dry. Still some holes here. How did the kid end up falling down the stairs?
Probably trying to get the dude to drop the charges before they had to try this in the media. Guy doesn't cooperate, Mac get's his side out.

I guess what bugs me...if you go through due process at what point would ANYONE in their sane mind objectively think this deserved a felony assault charge?

I'm going out on a limp and assuming the drunk guy must have someone in the family with some bread. Gross negligence on the police involved in this one. Take the drunks statement, interview all the witnesses, then follow-up with everyone and interview again days later to see if any stories change or details get altered.

The fact JM got charged so quickly is extremely disappointing...even if he wasn't a Vol just seems like someone decided "guilty" from the beginning.

Freudian Slip?

Funny how Trey Wallace broke this story. Dude started out essentially posing as a reporter by reposting message board stuff and eventually worked his way up to 34k Twitter followers and a senior reporter job at OutKick.

He literally faked it until he made it.
He was also the one who started with the Pruitt stuff too.

According to the motion, Spencer told police he’d been drinking that day and was holding a bottle of vodka while giving police his statement.

After Knoxville police arrived at the scene, McCollough did not answer any questions, choosing to give a statement to police a few days later.

Only reason he was charged is because he refused to talk to Law Enforcement.
Don't believe that. Other guy had broken teeth and Jaylen had a busted up hand. No way he wasn't getting arrested.

And most importantly, other guy called police. If Jaylen called police before he punched him he probably wouldn't have gotten arrested or charged

You're telling me, if a genie came to you in June and offered you Tennessee going 8-4 with wins over Pitt, LSU, Florida, and Bama, you wouldn't take it with a smile?
I surely would. If said genie came to me on October 27th and offered the same, I would slap the **** outta him.

The police acted based on one guy's unsubstantiated claims. Tank no commented and immediately retained counsel. UT swiftly investigated, reviewed the evidence, evaluated all sides of the story and felt the circumstances didn't warrant the charges filed. So Tank wasn't suspended by UT, allowing him to remain with the team while the student conduct process was completed.

He was cleared by the university, but will not play without admin approval. And while UT and counsel have been working to have the felony charge reduced or dismissed, that has been slow going. The legal hold up is not on UT's side, but the "unavailable to play" is.

Of course we can beat Georgia. Their defense might be a little better than Bama but their often isn’t nearly as good as Bama’s with Bryce Young healthy like Tennessee faced. It’s on the road but I’m expecting Tennessee to win that game and go 12-0 in the regular season.

Agree. TN would have beat Bama by 2-3 TD's without Bryce Young. Stetson Bennett isn't Bryce Young.
