I think Kentucky’s game plan will be just like Florida’s… Go for it on his many fourth downs as possible, and hope to hit on all of them. I think we are going to have some chances to put them away early if we can stop them on fourth down. Remember, they have been struggling kicking field goals, so I guarantee stoops will not take any chances with longer field goals and will just go for it. They are going to challenge us to stop Rodriguez on multiple run plays in a series. Also, look for them to have a wildcat package installed with Brown or Rodriguez as the quarterback, and the other one as the running back.
I agree and I will say if our D can shut down their RB and running game and make them one dimensional we blow them out. But I do think there will be a lot of 4th down try's unless deep in their own territory.

This one feels like LSU week to me. As the week goes on, I go from slightly worried to not worried at all. This team, across the board, has stayed focused all season. We are the better team and we’ll play like it.

I’m so glad we don’t have a (Defensive minded) coach anymore. How do you have a dude like this and see the tape and go, ya know what I think he’s a natural cornerback!! 😂😂😂 omg you can’t make this crap up. We never stood a chance with Pruitt.
Nothing wrong with a defensive minded head coach. He just has to be smart enough to hire a high quality offensive coordinator and leave him alone to do his job...

Calling it right now. We win the toss and elect to defend. Stop Kentucky on their first drive and score in 8 plays on our first drive. Sets the tone for the rest of the game

Success will be dictated by how effective Kentucky can be on 1st and 2nd down running the ball. If Rodriguez can get 4 or 5 yards on those early downs and keep them in 3rd and short then they'll lean on ball control and running the ball even more.

Our strength has been between the tackles when we're not forced to have secondary players make tackles in space. Gibbs did almost all his damage on the outside against us, I don't think Rodriguez is anywhere near the RB that Gibbs is so I like our chances to contain him more.

Mississippi State hasn't shown to be a good defense against the run, even before Kentucky they had given up 200 rushing yards to LSU & Arkansas already. We took Bama's legs out, so they played pretty uninspired and tired against Miss State, Gibbs only got 10 carries in that game. It's the best the bulldogs have looked against the rush, but it's because they were able to generate sacks on Bryce and Bama simply gave up on running the ball.

An 8-play scoring drive? That would be quite slow and methodical for this offense!

Was watching the Bama game last night, and made a note that they scored their last offensive points with about 8:38 left in the game. For as much as they scored, I thought that was pretty good. And our last touchdown drive was, for this team, actually quite slow and methodical, 11 plays, 4:23 of clock time.

Kentucky is our biggest game left. The only thing that could detract from our 7-0 start and wins over Bama and Florida is an ugly upset. A loss to only #1 UGA, keeps all positive vibes rolling. We drop a game to a Kentucky team, it will spoil the way we look back on this season. The Team has to put UGA out of mind and focus on UK. This game sets up as such a perfect trap game with them having a bye and two weeks to prepare, us likely looking ahead to the big UGA game next week.

Our first drive is usually one of our longest just trying to get the offense settled in.

Well the one thing this D has been strong in is stopping the run. I'm not so worried about the game either cause this O has been humming along and I don't see that changing with the addition of our top WR coming back and getting Hadden back out there and I hope Charles.

I’m sorry but it doesn’t matter how many weeks you have, you can’t fully prepare for this offense. Heupel runs the same look at you multiple times just to gauge what the defense is doing and then hits you where you show weakness. I mean heck, he did it to UT Martin….. the man kept running a play set to get the safeties to bite and when he realized they would he then ran a play over the top of them…..

What a lot of fans don’t understand is, is that this offense is so deadly because it literally evolves as the game is played out. Heupel doesn’t just say alright here’s my 50 plays….. he and the staff are constantly evaluating and attacking weaknesses throughout the whole game.

I wonder if Warren Burrell will come back next year with that medical redshirt, that would definitely help our depth next year. Who else are we set to lose in the secondary besides flowers and maybe Tank?

Ikr it’s like they watch

IKR it’s watch and see how the other team responds, are like okay that’s what they are doing, so let’s do this.. I absolutely love it, it is so fun to watch

Agreed, I know Lyle and Gump both liked to keep in starters until the last damn series even in blowout/cupcake wins. They didn't seem to get that winning by an extra 10 or 14 didn't help them as much as getting their 2nd/3rd string guys experience.
Pruitt is just looking worse and worse and worse every game 😂

Good morning Vol Nation!

I had my 60th birthday yesterday. Earlier this year, when my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I told her I wasn’t sure. Mainly because all I really wanted was to see a dominant Tennessee football team, and I knew that it was going to happen.

So here we are celebrating life, and our Volunteers!

Got to play golf yesterday with three good friends. They are all Aggies. They are truly happy that we are winning. When the Aggies first join the SEC, I gave them a tutorial on every member team at the time. They have realized that my tutorial was very factually-based rather than from a Dislike of the other teams… Currently, they are so beat down that they don’t even want to talk about the Aggies in football. I know a lot of y’all think that the Aggies are a cult, but that’s the way we are perceived as well. As a whole, their fan base is the closest to ours.

It was a good day!

It’s going to continue to improve as this Saturday will expose kentucky as they are decimated by our Volunteers.

Marching towards

15-0 🤠

Thank you very much!

My specialty doesn’t have to save lives often, but I believe that we truly improve the quality of our patients lives.

Of course as a VFL, I am a beacon of hope and provide a goal for the less fortunate (non-Volunteers) to aspire to… 😎

I have never ever once lost the “real UT” argument with a longhorn. It’s a life mission as long as I live in Texas. It’s like picking on bama fans though. It’s almost too easy. There’s a ton of fair weather fand for the lonhorns too. The real diehard longhorn fans are absolutely terrified of joining the SEC. They know that mid level is the highest that they can attain. 😎

My favorite response, when someone calls Texas UT, is to say, “You do know that Tennessee was a university before Texas was a state, right?”

Not sure where I heard it originally (fairly certain I didn’t come up with it) or I would give credit.

Edited to say, Happy Birthday! All good people were born in October. 😉
