That 4th down defense is legit considering how teams have literally gone for a ton due to them playing from behind

And Florida's success on 4th down skews the results too. We didn't give them easy looks. They converted some low-percentage plays. If they don't, the game isn't close. Take away the Florida game, we have a top-10 4th down defense at 30.8%.

Kentucky is our biggest game left. The only thing that could detract from our 7-0 start and wins over Bama and Florida is an ugly upset. A loss to only #1 UGA, keeps all positive vibes rolling. We drop a game to a Kentucky team, it will spoil the way we look back on this season. The Team has to put UGA out of mind and focus on UK. This game sets up as such a perfect trap game with them having a bye and two weeks to prepare, us likely looking ahead to the big UGA game next week.

I’m sorry but it doesn’t matter how many weeks you have, you can’t fully prepare for this offense. Heupel runs the same look at you multiple times just to gauge what the defense is doing and then hits you where you show weakness. I mean heck, he did it to UT Martin….. the man kept running a play set to get the safeties to bite and when he realized they would he then ran a play over the top of them…..

What a lot of fans don’t understand is, is that this offense is so deadly because it literally evolves as the game is played out. Heupel doesn’t just say alright here’s my 50 plays….. he and the staff are constantly evaluating and attacking weaknesses throughout the whole game.

Well that's a lie completely. They did a quick drive-by handshake, neither was interested in chatting.

Simpson allegedly had some things to complain about AFTER Heupel had moved out of ear shot. But I think these coaches just have to get over it honestly. Heupel is nothing but respectful towards other programs, but on Saturday he wants to absolutely drag your ass, if you let him he'll hang 100 in a heartbeat even if you're the school for the blind/deaf, you sign the contract to come play the Vols you better be ready.

Heck, called the Vols off with time remaining in the first half. If CJH wanted to pad stats like ohio state does, he would have kept HH in until the beginning of the 4th quarter. Not even close.
Tennessee only scored 2 TDs in the 2nd half. Could have easily put up another 50. Nice to see a coach play every player to gain game time experience…

I grew up near Rockwood in nearby Kingston..They were always one of our rivals..probably still are.

I was up the street in Lenoir City. My uncle taught at Kingston though. I had a friend in high school with a lake house there too. A lot of good memories.

Me too, but VQ seems to think he’s doubtful for this weekend. Of course, they were also the ones who said he was just being held out as a precaution last week, so…

Agreed, I know Lyle and Gump both liked to keep in starters until the last damn series even in blowout/cupcake wins. They didn't seem to get that winning by an extra 10 or 14 didn't help them as much as getting their 2nd/3rd string guys experience.
