Been listening to each and every Vol podcast on YT this week (talkin vawls, the VQ podcast, an Eric Cain podcast, etc)...

Didn't realize how skeptical many still are. Maybe it was the kneejerk reaction to the sloppy Pitt performance. Or maybe legit concerns.

Guess we won't know until the UF-LSU stretch, because Pitt was a one-off vs a really weird defense (one of the podcasts mentioned how Cade said (this year, now as an NFL guy) how Pitt's defense doesn't "play within the rules of engagement" as-in they're totally random and not logically based on how they rush and attack you).

I'd say it's like how many pro poker players say they feel more confident playing opponents that understand poker and "play logically". A pro will actually have a harder time reading a complete amateur, because they don't play logically. It's possible Pitt plays randomly or uses Game Theory to randomize their attacks. That or Narpoopuzi is a donk

Oh no not a myth at all...from someone who's trudge thru the mountains from this spot to that spot I can 1000% confirm this.I fully did not believe it either until one nite bout 1am walking back up a path few drinking buddies smelled like a shoney salad bar lmao..We all took off come up over this log and there's a handful laying there.It was dark we hauled ass but I've caught it 4 or 5 times in my life...

I’m not positive but I believe you may have been at a Shoneys, not the woods.

This isn't scientifically confirmed. I know a couple dozen herpetologists, some that actively research copperheads and catch hundreds a year for tagging and measuring, and they swear they don't. There's a couple that think they kinda do. A lot of other people swear they smell it every time they come across one. Our senses of smell are relative and individual. It could be a situation like the cilantro gene. Some think cilantro tastes great, others think it tastes soapy and terrible. So its feasible some may smell copperhead musk and liken it to cucumbers.

I've always been curious of this and largely disbelieved it. I have only once ever smelled cucumbers while out in the woods. I asked the person I was with if they smelled it and they couldn't, so I thought, "Wow, there might actually be something to this and there might be a snake nearby."

So I investigated. I found that we had stomped through a patch of wild cucurbits and it was coming from those plants and our shoes.
