The FPI also gave us a 10% chance of the playoffs.

I mean, let's say we go 10-2 with ~7-10 point losses to Bama and UGA. One of the two blows the other out of the water in Atlanta, giving the other team a 2nd loss.

Do we get in?
That's why TX beating AL on the field was so important and had to be rigged by taking tbe winning score off the board.

The timing of the Scott Frost firing is so bizarre. You are not going to hire anyone right now, and you are cutting him a check for $375,000 every day between now and October 1st, when his buyout would have dropped in half.

I don’t do business very well, but that just doesn’t seem like good business
That’s called a pissed off AD….. same way I would be if I held the position….new coach after every loss and sometimes if I felt we didn’t play well. 😂

That was a buddy fire if I've ever seen one, and honestly if I was a higher up I'd be pissed at the AD for costing the university/state that much money. The ONLY justification they could have for doing it now is if they believe the season can be salvaged by an interim coach and/or they thing the interim is a serious candidate. Otherwise, you HAVE to wait until 10/1 to fire him and save the university money.

Maybe Frost saw the writing on the wall and did everything in his power to get fired before 10/1 to fatten his wallet. If so, kudos lol

Richardson can not pass at all. Thru 2 games he has 0 TDs. We just can not let him beat us with his legs. If he throws for 300+ and 3TDs you just tip your cap and say good game. We need to stop him from running wild.
I think there's two players in college football that I'm glad Dan Mullen isn't coaching. AR15 and John Rhys Plumlee. Mullen would have JRP looking like Nick Fitzgerald, but he's faster.

One thing stoops and staff did is put the blueprint out on how to stop Anthony Richardson. They basically had Jordan Wright spy/shadow him esp in all the obvious pass situations but really the majority of the time. That’s how he got the pick 6. Dude was just right in front of AR and he never saw him somehow. But it completely shut down the whole offense. Now that game film is out there for the whole league to look at.
AR did hurt an ankle early in the game…. Florida fans are saying that is why they supposedly didn’t have designed runs for him Saturday…. Not sure if accurate though.

I’m toying with it as crazy as it sounds. Florida and LSU are terrible. Now, there is the Fl curse that we have to worry about, and LSU at home with their athletes is tough regardless. But those are two winnable games. We could lose one or both, but could win both also.

Say we win both, then we are undefeated with Bama coming to town. Neyland is sold out, the team is believing. Bama has serious issues. Their offense is pedestrian, nowhere near what it has been. Does TN pull off the biggest upset in decades? It’s possible if Bama doesn’t get it together. If we pull that off, even if we lose to UGA later in the year, we’re 11-1. Does it happen? We’d have a huge case for it
We are in at 11-1 with a close loss to Georgia in Athens.

We'd have ranked wins over Pitt, UF, UK, Bama, and I foresee LSU being undefeated and ranked on Oct. 8th. We'd have Top 10 wins over Bama and UK.

LSU has MSU, New Mex, and Auburn between now and then. MSU is the biggest test for them.

Also don't overlook the gravity of the UK game. They're going to roll into Knoxville for a night game on Oct 29th, with us being Dark Mode or Smokey Greys, and they'll probably be undefeated and Top 10 (Total Fool's Gold for them due to schedule). We would also be in the Top 10 for that matchup. It could be College Gameday.

Between now and then Kentucky plays Youngstown State, Northern Illinois, at Ole Miss, USCj, and MSU. They could easily win all those games, but they could also inexplicably lose one or more of them. Ranked Ole Miss in Oxford will be a challenge. MSU will be a challenge for most of the league and will surely get a big upset or two. But UK has had their number since Leach arrived.

If we roll into Athens undefeated it will be #1 UGA vs Top 5 Vols.

I am by no means expecting this or getting my hopes up. We could also tank and lose to UF, LSU, UK, and Bama 🤷🏼‍♂️ but with Bama looking extremely vulnerable this weekend... it isn't out of the question that we could be in this position.

325 yds with 2 touchdowns, if that’s a bad day against a really good defense, sign me up each week.
What should scare the heck out of every DC ahead is the fact that could have easily been 425+ and 4-5 even with Pitt causing maximum disruption...they will see it and know it to be true.

Uk should be undefeated when we play them
At least if there any good they will

I had placed Heuple's offense in the "Not worried, that's never going to be an issue" file. Yesterday made me second guess that a little. I'm worried that coaches are starting to get a handle on it. Time will tell. This offense seems to be at its best when moving fast. Yesterday it seemed all it took to derail a drive was for the defense to "develop" a cramp after a few up-tempo plays. I guess we'll see in the next few weeks whether it's an anomaly or whether it's a sign. Back in the day when I was in sales for a large medical software company, we used to say "We sell oranges when everyone else is selling apples. It won't be long until they're selling oranges too. By then we'll be selling passion fruit." Hopefully, if the defenses are catching up, CJH is working on the passion fruit.
Nothing the Pitt defense did caused Hook to sail a long wide open TD and for Ced to drop a long TD that hit him right in his hands...or a few other passes that were open that were dropped or sailed.

If that is "defenses catching up" to Heups offense...then they still have a looooong way to go to get there...lol.

I think we see a lot more stunts and zone blitzes. More interior pressure. I think we get enough pressure to disrupt Slovis and help out our dbs & lbs in coverage. One of our cbs likes to hit hard. Hopefully we dial up 1-2 CB blitzes and he knocks Slovis into next season.

I think Sampson will have his 1st 100yd game and Hooker goes over 300pass yds. 55-24 Vols.
You were wrong on Sampson, dummy.

Bammer seems to have 1-2 games where they almost lose or flat-out lose. I hate that it rarely happens when we play them. Last time was that stupid blocked field goal. . .
